Abstract:
The invention concerns a telescopic device (1) comprising a first tubular element (3) and an extension member (2) displaceably arranged in an axial direction within the first tubular element (3), wherein a coupling member (16) is provided relatively displaceable to the extension member (2), between at least, - a first axial position wherein the extension member is displaceable •within the first tubular element, and - a second axial position wherein the coupling member (16) engages between the extension member (2) and the first tubular element (3) limiting displacement in at least one longitudinal direction, where the coupling member (16) engages the interior of the first tubular element (3).
Abstract:
The invention provides a packaging for a medical article e.g. for a urinary catheter. The medical article is stored in a compartment and can be accessed by detaching a first element from a second element thereby forming an opening into the compartment. The first element comprises a suction cup or another fastening element by which the packaging is attachable to a surface. Due to the structure of the packaging, it can be supported in an orientation in which the opening is remote from the surface, and risk of contamination of the medical article can therefore be reduced during removal of the article from the packaging.
Abstract:
An ostomy bag with a filter construction is provided. The filter construction includes a deodorising element and an extension element. The extension element may function to provide buoyancy means so that a gas-inlet portion at the extension element is kept on top of the output or pushed away by the output. The extension element may also be attached to the ostomy bag at a distance from the deodorising element so as to provide a controlled flow path for the gas-flow.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance comprising a pouch and a filter construction is provided. The filter construction has a first and second foil layer to provide an enclosure for the elements in the filter construction. The filter construction is attached inside the pouch so that the filter construction is free-hanging inside the pouch. The two foil layers may be generally parallel with the walls of the ostomy bag. The foil layers are provided with numerous holes functioning as gas-inlets for the filter construction. The filter construction includes a pre-filter element and a deodorising filter.A method for collecting discharge as well as an ostomy appliance is provided. A method for reducing the number of balloonings and an ostomy appliance for reducing the number of balloonings is also provided. A method of increasing the time to ballooning as well as an ostomy appliance for increasing the time to ballooning is also provided.
Abstract:
A package for a catheter is provided. The package includes a container with a first cavity and a second cavity. The cavities are configured so as to prevent liquid swelling medium stored in the container from travelling from the second cavity into the first cavity and out through an opening into the container. Thus, the position of the cavities with respect to each other allows them to function as a water-lock.
Abstract:
A telescopic device comprising a first tubular element and an extension member displaceably arranged in an axial direction within the first tubular element, between at least, a first axial position wherein the extension member is displaceable within the first tubular element, where the first tubular element comprises a first coupling means and the extension member comprises a second coupling means, and in a second axial position where the first and second coupling means cooperate with each other for limiting the displacement of said extension member in at least one longitudinal direction, where the first and/or the second coupling means are provided with at least one protrusion in a radial direction of a longitudinal axis of the first tubular element and/or the extension member.
Abstract:
The invention provides an assembly for preparing a medical device, in particular a urinary catheter, by releasing a fluid medium onto the device. The device is packed in a package which contains the fluid medium confined in a compartment. To ensure preparation of the device, the package is adapted to open the compartment and the package in one and the same opening action, preferably so that the compartment opens at the latest when the package opens. In that way, removal of the device from the package requires opening of the compartment and the device is therefore wetted automatically as part of the opening procedure.
Abstract:
Sealing device for sealing externally debouching, natural or artificial body canals of animals or human beings, the device enabling liquid tight sealing against the inner wall of the bowel system of the animal or human being, the device further being made from a resilient material. The device is soft and resilient and may thus not trigger the analreflex, but is still able to provide a fluid-tight seal.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance (101) comprising a pouch and a filter construction (110) is provided. The filter construction has a first (111) and second (112) foil layer to provide an enclosure for the elements in the filter construction. The filter construction is attached inside the pouch so that the filter construction is free-hanging inside the pouch. The two foil layers may be generally parallel with the walls of the ostomy bag. The foil layers are provided with numerous holes functioning as gas-inlets (114) for the filter construction. The filter construction includes a prefilter element (115) and a deodorising filter (117). The ostomy appliance can be used in a method for collecting discharge, in a method for reducing the number of balloonings and in a method of increasing the time to ballooning.
