Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce an alkyl-N-arylcarbamate from an alkyl aryl carbonate as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:An alkyl-N-arylcarbamate is reacted with a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound such as imidazole or 2-hydroxypyridine in the presence of a primary or a secondary arylamine as a catalyst. This method is a new method for producing a carbamate by using an alkyl-N-arylcarbamate as a carbonic acid ester against the well-known production of carbamate using a carbonic ester with a dialkyl carbonate and 2 diaryl carbonate.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To recover a diurethane compound contained in waste water and prevent the clogging due to the deposition of the diurethane compound. CONSTITUTION:A diurethane compound contained in rejected waste water is recovered with a solvent in a step for removing a salt produced in neutralizing an alkaline catalyst used in reacting a diamine compound with dimethyl carbonate and producing the corresponding diurethane compound. Thereby, the diurethane compound which is a valuable in the waste water rejected in removing the neutralized salt produced in synthesizing the diurethane compound can be recovered at a low cost without carrying out the solid-liquid separating operation and pipes for flowing the waste water can be prevented from clogging.

PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the compound by optically resolving the mixture of the optical active isomers of a beta-hydroxyarylethylamine compound by liquid chromatography using a separating agent containing a polysaccharide derivative as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of the optically active isomers of a beta- hydroxyarylethylamine of the formula (X is 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, nitro, halogen, amino, lower alkyl-substituted amino, cyano, OH, COOH; n is 0-15; * exhibits an asymmetric carbon) is optically resolved with liquid chromatography using a polysaccharide as an optically active solid phase to obtain the optically active beta-hydroxyarylethylamine compound. The separating agent is especially the ester compound, carbamate compound or ether compound of a homopolysaccharide such as cellulose, amylose or chitin, e.g. cellulose tribenzoate. The method simply, reproducibly and effectively give the subject compound useful as an intermediate for in an industrial scale by the simple chromatographic technique.

PURPOSE:To obtain a method for simply producing a carbamate at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for producing an aryl N-substituted carbamate comprises reacting an N-substituted carbamic acid ester with an aryl alcohol in the presence of a Brphinsted acid catalyst. Thereby, the objective aryl N-substituted carbamate can be produced simply by using a small amount of the inexpensive Brphinsted acid catalyst.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a filler for liquid chromatography which enables good optical isomer separation of a target compound. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a filler for liquid chromatography, a process where the required amount of a dope of a polysaccharide derivative is divided into a plurality of parts and a part of the dope of the polysaccharide derivative is applied to a porous carrier to be dried is repeated a plurality of times, and the required amount of the polysaccharide derivative is carried by the porous carrier. The quantity of the carried polysaccharide derivative in the filler is 20 mass% or higher. A TS (tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)silane) coefficient obtained by using a column for optical isomer separation for liquid chromatography prepared by packing the filler into a column pipe is in the range of 0.25 to 1.0. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler and a column for liquid chromatography, giving superior optical isomer separation relative to an object compound. SOLUTION: In this filler for optical isomer separation for liquid chromatography, made of a polysaccharide derivative carrying filler as a main component and a column in which the filler is filled, a TS coefficient defined by the following formula (I) is in the range of 0.25 to 1.0. TS coefficient=[Vc-[t(TS)-t(blank)]×FR]/[t(TS)-t(blank)]×ER (I) [In the formula, abbreviations mean Vc (cm3): a column volume, FR (ml/min.): a flow velocity, t(TS) (min.): an elution time of Tetrakis(trimethylsily)silane(=TS), and t(blank)(min.): elution time for TS in the state with the column not connected].

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the tailing of a compd. to be analyzed and to attain satisfactory separation by using a separating agent made of a polysaccharide deriv. carried on modified silica gel having a specified carbon content as a carrier. SOLUTION: A polysaccharide deriv., preferably an ester or carbamate deriv., especially preferably amylose tris (3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) is carried on modified silica gel having >=1.8wt.%, preferably 1.8 to about 5.0wt.% carbon content as a carrier. The size of the modified silica gel depends on the size of a column used but the particle diameter of the silica gel is usually 1μm to about 10mm, preferably 1μm to about 300μm. The silica gel is preferably porous and the pref. average pore diameter is 10Å to 100μm, especially about 50-50,000Å.
