Abstract: The coating dispersion is sucked through the flow channels of a monolithic catalyst support at a rate of 0.1-1 m/s. Excess dispersion is removed from the channels by applying a suction impulse from below. Extraction air is sucked at a rate of 40-1 m/s through the channels and the excess coating dispersion removed from the air stream is removed from the air stream within a time from less than 100 ms after leaving the catalyst support. Process for coating the flow channels of a monolithic cylindrical catalyst support with a coating dispersion comprises vertically directing the cylindrical axis, charging a predetermined amount of dispersion from a storage vessel to the upper front surface of the support, sucking the dispersion through the flow channels, removing excess dispersion from the channels, returning the excess dispersion to the storage vessel and fixing the dispersion by calcining. The coating dispersion is sucked through the flow channels of a monolithic catalyst support at a rate of 0.1-1 m/s. Abstract: Storage material comprises magnesium oxide and aluminum oxide as a magnesium aluminate spinel in a mole ratio of 1.1:1. The magnesium oxide present in a stoichiometric excess is homogeneously dispersed in the storage material in a highly dispersed form. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the storage material comprising calcining a magnesium/aluminum hydrotalcite having a magnesium oxide/aluminum oxide mole ratio of 1.1:1 at a temperature of 400-600o C for 1-10 hours.

Abstract: Nitrogen oxide-storage catalyst contains at least one fine particled catalyst material and nitrogen oxide-storage component. The nitrogen oxide-storage has an average particle diameter of less than 1 micrometer after the completion of catalyst production as fine particles of barium sulfate, strontium sulfate or as mixture thereof or as completed or incomplete decomposition product. Nitrogen oxide-storage material comprises at least a storage component for nitrogen oxide in the form of particles of oxide(s), carbonate(s), or hydroxide(s) of earth metals magnesium calcium, strontium and barium as well as alkali metals potassium and caesium on a carrier material. Independent claims are include for the production of storage material and use of nitrogen oxide-storage.
