    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spherical pigment based on an oxide or silicate salt carrier material having a finely dispersed metal, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This pigment is obtained by a spray-pyrolyzing method comprising pyrolyzing an aerosol comprising the solution of at least one kind of a noble metal compound and an oxide or silicate salt-forming precursor at a temperature exceeding the decomposition temperature of the noble metal compound and a temperature for forming at least a carrier material from the oxide or silicate salt-forming precursor and subsequently separating the produced pigment from the pyrolyzed gas.
