Abstract: Shaped bodies of a molecular sieve zeolite having an improved mechanical hardness greater than 5 kp are produced by spraying an unstable silicic acid sol as the binder on to a zone of the rotating plate of a granulating device and concurrently applying the pulverized zeolite particles to another zone of the rotating plate, while avoiding the formation of a plastic mass, and the thus produced shaped bodies are dried and activated according to the disclosed process. The unstable silicic acid sol has a silicic acid content greater than 10 percent by weight and a BET surface greater than 150 m2/g.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for the production of a titanium- containing zeolite whereby a synthesis gel is formed by combining and hydrolysing a hydrolysable silicon compound, a hydrolysable titanium compound and a basic quaternary ammonium compound in an aqueous medium, in quantities such that relative to the starting compounds the molar ratio of Si/Ti is greater than or equal to 30 and that of N/Si is 0.12 to less than 0.20, and the synthesis gel is then crystallised at a temperature of 150 .degree.C to 220 .degree.C for a period of less than 3 days, and a titanium- containing zeolite obtainable by this method.

Abstract: Production of a titanium-containing zeolite comprises: (a) hydrolyzing a mixture of hydrolyzable silicon (Si) and titanium (Ti) compounds with a quaternary ammonium base in an aqueous medium in amounts such that the Si/Ti molar ratio is at least 30 and the nitrogen/silicon (N/Si) molar ratio is 0.12-0.2; and (b) crystallizing the resulting gel at 150-220 degrees C for less than 3 days. An Independent claim is also included for a Ti-containing zeolite produced by the above process, having a primary crystallite size of 0.1-2.0 mu m.
