    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powder increased in fluidity and bulk density without causing additional organic contamination of air by adding an alkylhalosilane to an aqueous suspension of a zeolite powder and drying the suspension. SOLUTION: At least one alkylhalosilane is added to an aqueous suspension of a zeolite powder, especially a filter cake obtained after precipitation and filtration of the zeolite and redispersed in water. The resultant suspension is then dried to afford a crystalline zeolite having the surface modified with the alkylhalosilane and containing the alkylhalosilane in an amount of 0.01-5 mass% based on the amount of the zeolite used. In order to use the zeolite as a detergent, a zeolite with a high Al content having sufficient calcium binding power and represented by the formula aMe2O.bAl2O3.cSiO2.dH2O [Me is Na, Na and/or K; (a)/b is 0.8-1.2; c/b is 1.8-5; d is 0-10] is preferably used.

    Abstract: The following are claimed: (A) zeolite granulates comprising 51-78 (esp. 60-75) wt.% of absolutely dry zeolite and 1-20 (esp. 5-15) wt.% of sodium salts of polymeric or copolymeric carboxylic acids, the granulates have a bulk density of 600-950 g/l., a particle dia. of 300-1000 microns, a surfactant uptake capacity of 30 +/- 5 wt.% and a redispersibility of above 95 wt.%, (B) zeolite granules comprising 51-78 wt.% of absolutely dry zeolite and 1-20 wt.% of sodium citrate. The granules have a bulk density of 600-950 g/l., a particle dia. of 300-1000 microns, a surfactant uptake capacity of 30 +/- 5 wt.%, and a redispersibility of above 85 wt.%, (C) prepn. of zeolite granulates as described in (A) or (B) above, comprising causing zeolite powder or known zeolite granulates to take up drops of a sprayed suspension on their surface, to give a moist agglomerate and drying the moist agglomerate. Pref. the sprayed suspension comprises 15-40% of anhydrous zeolite, 3-40% of (co)polymeric carboxylate or citrate, 0.5-3% of stabilisers and 40-65 wt.% of water, or it comprises 15-40 wt.% of anhydrous zeolite, 3-40% of (co)polymeric carboxylate, 0-25% of soda, 0-20% of citrate, 0-20% of silicate, 0-5% of CMC, 0.5-3% of stabilisers and 40-65 wt.%.

    Abstract: A process is provided for the safe storage of sodium percarbonate in a bulk container that is substantially closed to the ambient atmosphere. A temperature is measured at at least one position inside the sodium percarbonate stored in bulk and, with an increase in temperature within the range of 0.5 to 10° C. per day, in particular 1 to 5° C. per day, dry air is passed periodically or continuously through the bulk material until the increase in temperature has fallen to a value of less than 1° C. per day in particular less than 0.5° C. per day.
