SOLUTION: The nanoscale yttrium-zirconium compound oxide is produced by spraying an yttrium compound and a zirconium compound or a solution or a suspension obtained by dissolving or dispersing these compounds in a solvent, and then converting these compound into the yttrium-zirconium compound oxide at a temperature higher than 200 deg.C in a flame, preferably an detonating gas.
