Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of manufacturing easily a composite member containing a component comprising a molding material based on higher polyamide without sharing an adhesive auxiliary, and at the same time with avoiding the defects, and having little influence on the manufacturing process as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the composite member containing the following parts: (a) a member comprising the molding material containing polyamide which is completely or partially at least 40% by mass, and wherein a monomer unit has at least 8 C atoms on average, and (b) a member comprising other molding materials, at least one of the parts (a) and (b) is treated with open-air plasma on a contact surface before the manufacturing of a composite, and thereafter, the other part is solved by an integral molding method. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolayer or multilayer film for decoration, which comprises a polyamide composition having good chemical resistance and stress crack resistance and improved scratch resistance. SOLUTION: The decorative film having an outer layer that comprises a polyamide composition comprising the following components: (a) a 50 to 100 parts by mass polyamide that can be produced from the following monomers including (α) a diamine selected from among m-xylylene diamine, p-xylylene diamine, and the mixtures thereof, (β) another diamine having 6 to 14 carbon atoms, and (γ) an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having 10 to 18 carbon atoms and (δ) another dicarboxylic acid having 6 to 9 carbon atoms; (b) another 0 to 50 parts by mass polyamide (where the total parts by mass of (a) and (b) is 100). According to the present invention, the film has no tendency of forming any sediment, has improved lightness, and maintains the appearance of the surface for a long time period. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process of a surface decorated molded member, which welds at least a surface part of a molded member with a decorative film under electromagnetic incident by applying the electromagnetism to a single layer or multi layer film. SOLUTION: A tool free production process comprises; preparing a molded member containing a filler or a reinforcement, preparing the decorative film of which at least a surface part is single layered or multilayered, and welding them under electromagnetic incident. The surface of the molded member produced e.g. by a rapid prototyping at a first step in the production process of the surface decorated molded member is decorated afterward. The present invention relates to a composite part containing (i) a part composed of an ABS molding composition, and (ii) a multilayer film including at least one layer comprising a polyamide molding composition, and at least one layer comprising an adhesion promoter, wherein the adhesion promoter contains from 2 to 100% by weight of a copolymer, and wherein the copolymer contains (a) from 70 to 99.9% by weight of monomer units derived from vinyl compounds selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid derivatives, methacrylic acid derivatives, and vinylaromatics; and (b) from 0.1 to 30% by weight of monomer units comprising a functional group selected from the group consisting of a carboxylic anhydride group, an epoxy group, and an oxazoline group.

Two moulded parts A and B that cannot be directly welded together can be welded to each other with the aid of a film C, if the material of the first surface of the film is compatible with the material of the moulded part A an d the material of the second surface of the film is compatible with the materi al of the moulded part B and if either the film C or a surface region that come s into contact with it adsorbs electromagnetic radiation. Welding is carried o ut by the first surface of the film C being brought into contact with the mould ed part A and the second surface of the film C being brought into contact with the moulded part B and electromagnetic radiation being radiated in.

Two shaped articles A and B which are not directly weldable to one another can be welded to one another with the aid of a film C if the material of the first surface of this film is compatible with the material of the shaped article A and the material of the second surface of this film is compatible with the material of the shaped article B and if either the film C or a surface region in contact therewith absorbs electromagnetic radiation. The welding is carried out by brining the first surface of the film C into contact with the shaped article A and the second surface of the film C into contact with the shaped article B and inputting electromagnetic radiation.

The method for production of a surface-decorated molded part, where the decorations are emblems, colored decoration elements or markings, comprises welding a portion of the molded part surface with a decorating multi-layered foil under irradiation of laser radiation. The molded part is manufactured by a procedure in a layer-wise manner. The molded part contains filling and/or reinforcement materials (1-60 wt.%). The foil and/or layer of the foil are made of a molding material.

The surface of a shaped article produced in a first step, for example by means of rapid prototyping, is subsequently decorated by a method for the production of a surface-decorated shaped article. The method requiring the steps of: a) a shaped article being provided and b) at least a portion of the surface of the shaped article being welded to a decorating film with incidence of electromagnetic radiation.
Abstract:
A method for the production of composite parts (I) comprising (a) a part made of moulding material containing at least 40 wt% polyamide in which the monomer units contain at least 8 carbon atoms on average and (b) a part made of another moulding material, in which at least one of the parts (a)/(b) is treated on its contact surface with an open-air plasma after which the other part is formed on it. An independent claim is also included for composite parts (I) obtained by this method.
