Abstract: Barrier stretch fabrics suitable for use in reusable medical or surgical products which are to be washed disinfected and sterilized prior to each use are disclosed. The fabrics include a fabric substrate comprising an elastic crosslinked polyolefin fiber and a membrane which is laminated or otherwise attached to the fabric substrate. The membrane is impermeable to liquids under a pressure of at least 20 centimeters of water (0.284 pounds- force/sq. inch). The barrier stretch fabrics are characterized by having a stretch of at least 18% in at least one direction with growth of ± 5% or lower.
