Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to multilayer silo bags that may include a tube comprising at least two layers, a first open end, a second open end, and a first region and a second region disposed between the first and second end. One or more of the at least three layers may comprise an ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having a density of 0.90 g/cc to 0.965 g/cc and an I 2 of 0.1 to 6.0 g/10 minutes, a low density ethylene-based polymer having a density of 0.917 g/cc to 0.935 g/cc and an I 2 of 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 minutes, or combinations thereof. The first region may have a thickness of at least 10% greater than a thickness of the second region. The first region may have a surface area that is at least 50% of an overall surface area of the multilayer silo bag.

Abstract: A rheology system includes a rheometer including a lower plate and an upper plate, a manipulator including an arm, a loading end effector, a cleaning end effector, and a controller communicatively coupled to the rheometer and the manipulator, the controller including a processor and a computer readable and executable instruction set, which when executed, causes the processor to direct the manipulator to couple the loading end effector to the arm, direct the manipulator engage a specimen with the loading end effector, direct the manipulator to position the specimen on the lower plate of the rheometer, direct the upper plate to engage the specimen between the upper plate and the lower plate, direct the manipulator to couple the cleaning end effector to the arm, and direct the manipulator to engage the lower plate with the cleaning end effector.

Abstract: Artificial turf system (10) including a primary backing layer (12) and a shock absorption component (20). The primary backing layer (12) has a plurality of artificial turf yarns (14) projecting upwardly from the primary backing layer (12). The shock absorption component (20) is composed of a sheet of three-dimensional random loop material 3DRLM (30). The sheet of 3DRLM (30) is in contact with the primary backing layer (12). The shock absorption component (20) includes (i) a cushioning layer (40) and (ii) a shockpad (50). The 3DRLM (30) in the cushioning layer (40) has an apparent density that is greater than the apparent density of the 3DRLM (30) in the shockpad (50).

Abstract: The present invention provides a dry mix composition of a low-viscosity cellulose ether (50 to 750 mPa• s at 1 wt.% solids, at 20 C, and a 514 s-1 shear rate, using a strain-controlled rotational rheometer (for example, ARES-G2™, TA Instruments), a graded aggregate, and a hydraulic cement, or a granular wet cement composition of the cement, graded aggregate and an admixture therefor including the cellulose ether. The wet granular hydraulic cement composition behaves like asphalt compositions and has zero or near zero slump, a high lubricity and from 5 wt.% to less than 13 wt.% of water, or, preferably from greater than 5 to 10.5 wt.%, based on the total weight of the granular wet cement composition. The low-viscosity cellulose ether enables lubricity without impairing compaction and without causing air entrainment.

Abstract: A process for preparing a microcapillary carbon molecular sieve membrane may include extruding a polyvinylidene chloride polymer to a thickness from 10 μm to 1,000 μm to form an extruded polymeric microcapillary film, wherein the extruded polymeric microcapillary film comprises a first end, a second end, and one or more microcapillaries extending from the first end to the second end; pre-treating the extruded polymeric microcapillary film at a temperature from 100 °C to 200 °C for a time from 1 hour to 48 hours to form a pre-treated polymeric microcapillary film; and pyrolizing the pre-treated polymeric microcapillary film at a temperature from 200 °C to 1,500 °C for a time from 15 minutes to 5 hours to form the microcapillary carbon molecular sieve membrane.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a die assembly (10) having an outlet assembly (52). The outlet assembly (52) includes first and second outlet plates, each outlet plate (56A, 56B) having a respective inner face (106, 108). The first inner face (106) is in mirror-image relation to the second inner face (108) along an axis of symmetry (56C). The first inner face (106) and the second inner face (108) together form an elongate outlet (52, 57) through which a microcapillary film (54) exits the die assembly (10). Each inner face (106, 108) has two tapered surfaces (110A, 110C) extending in opposite directions away from a midpoint (112A, 112B). For each respective inner face (106, 108), a mid-segment (Ms) extends between the midpoint (112A, 112B) and the axis of symmetry (56C), and a peak segment (Ps) extends between a peak point (114A, 114B, 114C, 114D) and the axis of symmetry (56C). The mid-segment (Ms) and the peak segment (Ps) each have a length. The length of the mid-segment (Ms) is less than the length of the peak segment (Ps).
