Abstract: A dispensing system includes a supply container 100 installed in a stand (120, fig 1), and a vessel 150 for receiving a predetermined volume of fluid such as powder, the container outlet having a valve disc 220 with a skirt portion 260 and a circular valve seat 221 that can be sealed by a conical valve body 210 attached to a post 230, the receiving vessel having an actuator probe 152 which can interact with the post to open the outlet. The conical valve body may be biassed into contact with the valve seat by a spring 240. The receiving vessel may have a movable platform 151 to vary the predetermined volume. The stand may be made of wire.
