Abstract:
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to at least a portion of the container-contacting surface of the conveyor or to at least a portion of the conveyor-contacting surface of the container a coating comprising a hydrophilic material wherein the lubricating properties of the coating are enhanced by contact with a polar liquid; polymerizing or otherwise solidifying the coating; and contacting the coating with such polar liquid. If desired, the coating can be applied or polymerized on the conveyor or container while the conveyor line is in motion.
Abstract:
A solid cleaning composition comprises a source of active oxygen agent within a binder complex. The solid is formed by a binding agent that forms the ingredients into a solid. The binding agent is a composition formed by the solidification of a mixture of an organic sequestrant, including phosphonate or amino carboxylic acid or mixtures thereof, an active oxygen compound, and water. The solid composition can be dissolved in an aqueous solution creating an aqueous concentrate of the active oxygen at a useful concentration. The binding agent can also be used to bind additional functional materials and form a solid cleaning composition comprising the source of stabilized active oxygen as well as the additional functional material.
Abstract:
A coated substrate comprises a strippable intermediate coating atop the substrate and a strip agent-permeable waterborne overcoat adhered to the intermediate coating, wherein the dried overcoat is less trippable and more wear-resistant than the dried intermediate coating. When the overcoat eventually becomes worn and must be renewed, a strip agent (e.g., chemical strip agent) can be applied to the overcoat. The strip agent penetrates the overcoat and attacks the intermediate coating, thereby enabling removal of the intermediate coating and overcoat without aggressive removal techniques such as sanding.

Abstract:
A composition capable of releasing active enzyme into an aqueous, active chlorine containing media which in a first aspect comprises an enzyme core encapsulated with an initial coating of a time-release substance, a first coating of a bleach-neutralizing substance and a second coating of a time-release substance. In a second aspect, the composition comprises an enzyme encapsulated in a time-release substance designed to delay release of the enzyme in dissolution for a first-time delay, and a bleach-neutralizing substance, present as either a core material and/or a first coating on a diluent core, which is encapsulated in a time-release substance designed to delay release of the bleach-neutralizing substance into solution for a second-time delay; the first-time delay being longer than the second-time delay so that the bleach-neutralizing substance will be released and completely neutralize all active chlorine present in the solution before the enzyme is released. In a third aspect, the composition comprises an enzyme core encapsulated with a time-release substance, a diluent core encapsulated with a first coating of a bleachneutralizing substance and a second coating of a time-release substance, and a bleach-neutralizing substance core encapsulated with a time-release substance. The invention further includes a cleaning composition which is particularly effective in warewashing which comprises one of the encapsulated enzyme-containing compositions described above, chlorine bleach, and at least one additional detergent component.
