Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a slip between a mat having a flexible polymer lining surface, and a second surface adjacent to the lining surface. SOLUTION: Aqueous solution of polyvinyl acetate is applied to a lining surface, the lining surface having this liquid on it is brought into contact with a second surface while this solution is still wet. This method is especially effective when a mat has a flexible lining surface containing flexible polymer selected from among natural rubber, natural elastomer, and synthetic elastomer. Contact action is made before this solution is completely dried. This solution may be directly applied to the lining surface or by spraying. This solution may be directly applied to the second surface by spraying, possibly. This solution contains 1-90 wt.% solution of polyvinyl acetate, or occupies 1-99 wt.% of the solution as polyvinyl acetate, for example.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition that is particularly effective at removing soils caused by raw fish soil.SOLUTION: A solid detergent composition comprises: an alkali metal carbonate as an alkaline source in an amount effective to provide a use solution having a pH of at least about 9.5; a water conditioning agent in an amount of about 1 to 70 wt.%; an active agent consisting essentially of inorganic potassium salt, alcohol alkoxylate, or branched fatty acid salt or combinations thereof; and a solidification agent. The solid detergent composition comprises less than 5 wt.% sodium hydroxide and less than 3 wt.% active chlorine.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To neutralize laundry, sufficiently sterilize the laundry and impart flexibility to the finished laundry by bringing the laundry into contact with an alkaline detergent to treat the laundry, and further bringing the treated laundry into contact with a peracid composition containing hydrogen peroxide, an organic carboxylic acid and a resulting organic peroxide. SOLUTION: This laundering method comprises (A) bringing a dirt laundry into contact with an alkaline detergent to treat the laundry, and (B) further bringing the treated laundry into contact with a peroxide composition containing hydrogen peroxide, an organic carboxylic acid (e.g. acetic acid and butanoic acid) and a resulting organic peroxide (e.g. peracetic acid and perpropionic acid), and capable of neutralizing and disinfecting the laundry, preferably at
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions of peroxycarboxylic acid that have reduced odor compared to conventional peroxycarboxylic acid compositions, methods employing these reduced-odor compositions, and methods of making these compositions. Typically, the reduced-odor compositions include an amine oxide surfactant.

A pre-spotting or pre-treating composition for a soiled laundry item comprises hydrophillic ethoxylate surfactant with less than two moles of ethylene oxide or a or blend thereof with at leat one further surfactant composition to give a HLB value of about 7-12. The treatment composition can be used in a liquid or solid form and can be applied to individual laundry items in the form of a solid stick or liquid spray prior to introduction to the laundry machine. Laundry items can also be contacted in the laundry machine with the pre-spot or pre-treatment composition in the form of an aqueous presoak, preflush, prewash, or other step prior to the cleaning step.

The present invention relates to compositions including a water soluble magnesium salt, water soluble calcium salt, and gluconate, which have a beneficial effect on corrosion during cleaning. The present compositions can reduce corrosion of glass, aluminum, or steel. The present invention also relates to methods employing these compositions.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods employing a water soluble magnesium compound. In certain embodiments, the composition includes water and water soluble magnesium compound, but lacks other materials commonly used in cleaning compositions. The methods and compositions can provide magnesium ion at predefined ratios to calcium ion in water, such as magnesium ion in a molar amount equal to or in excess over a molar amount of calcium ion. A water soluble magnesium salt including an anion of a water soluble calcium salt is more effective than a magnesium salt with an anion of a water insoluble calcium salt. These compositions can be used for reducing lime scale or precipitate formation from hard water, removing soap scum, or the like.
Abstract:
A solid cleaning composition comprises a source of active oxygen agent within a binder complex. The solid is formed by a binding agent that forms the ingredients into a solid. The binding agent is a composition formed by the solidification of a mixture of an organic sequestrant, including phosphonate or amino carboxylic acid or mixtures thereof, an active oxygen compound, and water. The solid composition can be dissolved in an aqueous solution creating an aqueous concentrate of the active oxygen at a useful concentration. The binding agent can also be used to bind additional functional materials and form a solid cleaning composition comprising the source of stabilized active oxygen as well as the additional functional material.
