PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that microemulsions exhibiting stability in a very narrow temperature range tend to become unstable under low temperature and high temperature conditions often encountered when shipping product or storing product in a warehouse.SOLUTION: The invention relates to microemulsion compositions containing water, a mixture of nonionic surfactants, and oil. The microemulsion provides for the removal of hydrophobic particularly oily soils from a variety of surfaces. The compositions can be used for cleaning hard surfaces and the laundry, hand washing, and car washing. Typical hydrophobic soils are oily soils derived from petroleum oils or natural fats and oils also containing a significant proportion of particulate soils such as carbon, common dirt and other non-water-soluble typically hydrophobic soil particulate. The microemulsion composition can include a separating medium such as an amphoteric surfactant for controlling the conditions under which the microemulsion is separated.

The warewashing detergent composition includes a cleaning agent, and a corrosion inhibitor. The cleaning agent comprises a detersive amount of a surfactant. The corrosion inhibitor includes a source of aluminum ion and a source of zinc ion in a weight ratio of at least 2:1. The relative amounts of the source of zinc ion and the source of aluminum ion can be controlled to reduce visible filming when the warewashing detergent composition is used in the presence of hard water. Methods for using and manufacturing a warewashing detergent composition are provided.

A liquid detergent composition is described. The liquid detergent composition includes an emulsion having a water phase and an oil phase. The liquid detergent composition includes a detersive amount of a nonionic surfactant component, an emulsion stabilizing amount of a cationic surfactant component, about 5 wt. % to about 94 wt. % water, and at least about 5 wt. % of a suspended particulate component. A detergent use solution and methods for using a liquid detergent composition are described.
