Disclosed are a method for controlling a bit rate in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) system, an apparatus and a method for converting a media stream by using the same. The media stream conversion method includes the steps of: determining a data amount of an inputted moving picture transmission stream and calculating a stream length (STL) value; calculating a data amount to be outer coded for every interval of DAB transmission frames based on the STL vale; outer coding a data with a multiple size of a packet unit for every interval of the DAB transmission frames as maintaining the data amount according to the STL value on average; and reading the outer coded moving picture transmission stream as much as the data amount according to the STL value for every interval of the DAB transmission frames to configure the DAB transmission frames and outputting the moving picture transmission stream.

There is provided a method for processing a TPEG-based application service, including the steps of: receiving a TPEG-based broadcasting stream related to RFID application information through a broadcasting communication network; parsing the received broadcasting stream and extracting frames having no errors; analyzing characteristics (application IDs) of service components of the extracted frames to classify the extracted frames into RFID application data, LOC data, and SNI data by corresponding services; storing the classified RFID application data, LOC data, and SNI data in corresponding storage areas; searching RFID application related data of a corresponding service from a corresponding storing area in response to a RFID application service request from a user; and outputting the searched corresponding RFID application related data.

Provided are a recording medium for a point of interest/news information service frame and an apparatus for processing a TPEG based application service using the same. Provided is a geographic information transceiving system and method using a digital broadcasting network. The system and method segments new geographic and map data of a region, on which a geographic information service is provided, makes data segment files of different sizes, and multiplexes and transmits the files. A geographic information transmitting system includes: a geographic information collector for receiving real-time geographic information and real-time traffic information; a geographic information processor for extracting/processing local geographic information and local traffic information from the geographic information collecting means and outputting whole area information, geographic information and traffic information for a plurality of resolution levels; a digital broadcasting unit for converting and transmitting the geographic information/traffic information data in conformity to digital broadcast signals; a geographic information multiplexer for multiplexing the geographic information/traffic information data; and a transmitter for transmitting the multiplexed geographic information/traffic information data to a corresponding region.

An apparatus and a method for inserting a multimedia stream into the DAB transport stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in the DAB transmission system is provided. The apparatus and method for inserting the multimedia stream inserts and transmits the multimedia stream, e.g., MPEG-2 stream into DAB transport stream, to thereby provide a multimedia broadcasting service without changing an organization of the conventional DAB transmission system.

A digital broadcasting receiver with DGPS RTCM data output port and a terminal for supporting the DGPS service using the same are disclosed. The digital broadcasting receiver having DGPS RTCM data output port, includes: a radio frequency processing unit for receiving digital broadcasting signals and converting the received signals into baseband data; a decoding unit for decoding the baseband data to generate decoded data; a DGPS information extractor unit for extracting a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) information from a DGPS data which is one of the decoded data; and a RTCM104 formatting unit for converting the DGPS information into RTCM104 data which is compatible with the DGPS RTCM data input port and outputting the RTCM104 data through the DGPS RTCM data output port.
