Abstract:
The invention relates to a cutting device (1) for cutting stacked sheet-metal plates into sheet-metal strips using a cutting unit (12). Holding and positioning means (25 to 29 and 13 to 16) are arranged above said stack. This makes a space-saving arrangement possible while maintaining a high degree of cutting precision. The cut sheet-metal strips are fed to another cutting unit by collectively feeding all strips up to a separating point. This simplifies the feeding device and the adaptation thereof to different sheet-metal thickness.
Abstract:
The invention relates first of all to a method for covering areas of damaged protective coating on containers or the like, in which, according to the invention, protective coating material is stamped on to the zone in which the damaged areas occur. The invention also describes an apparatus for carrying out the method in which a carrier unit is provided for stamping protective coating material on to the damaged area. Apparatus is provided for positioning the carrier unit with respect to the container.
Abstract:
An oscillating electrode wheel head (210) for a resistance seam welding machine is described, which has a sliding contact current transfer device (224) between a stator (220b) and a rotor (223), which device consists of a disc (226) in the form of a circular ring which extends radially between the rotor and the stator, is attached on its outer circumference to the stator, supports an axial sliding contact ring (232) on its inner circumference and is constructed in a flexible manner in its web part (228) located between the inner and outer circumference. The sliding contact disc (226) consists of a copper mesh to which the axial sliding contact ring (232) is attached. The sliding contact current transfer device (224) in the form of the disc (226) having a flexible web part (228) replaces the current transfer device, in the form of liquid metal, which is otherwise normal in oscillating electrode wheel heads. … …

Abstract:
The welding method allows the abutting or overlapping longitudinal container edges to be welded together by passing them between a current carrying outer roller (5) and a relatively movable inner roller (8), which is pressed against the outer roller with a defined force. Pref., the force exerted on the inner roller in the direction of the outer roller is adjustable and held constant during the welding process, the outer roller pref. having 2 current electrodes (2,3) on its opposite sides.
Abstract:
A pendulum roller head (210) for a resistance seam-welding machine is described, having a sliding contact current transmission device (224) between a stator (220b) and a rotor (223), which device is composed of an annular disc (226) which extends radially between rotor and stator, is fastened by its outer circumference to the stator, carries an axial sliding contact ring (232) on its inner clrcumference, and is flexibly designed in its bridging part (228) between the inner and outer circumferences. The sliding contact disc (226) is composed of a copper braid to which the axial sliding contact ring (232) is fastened. The sliding contact current transmission device (224) in the form of the disc (226) with a flexible bridging part (228) replaces the current transmission device in the form of fluid metal which has formerly been in use in pendulum roller heads.
Abstract:
Roll-seam resistance welding of containers (esp. for food and drink) made of very thin sheet metal, is claimed. The seam is produced as a butt joint without use of wire. The appts. has a first rotatably driven roll head (5) with two electrodes (2,3) and an electrode cleaning device of continuous or discontinuous action, and a second roll head (8) without electrodes. By using a feed mechanism, the container shells (1) with abutting joint edges are fed to the roll heads (5,8).
