Abstract: The invention relates first of all to a method for covering areas of damaged protective coating on containers or the like, in which, according to the invention, protective coating material is stamped on to the zone in which the damaged areas occur. Abstract: In order to separate a stream of tin can bodies (8, 9, 10) carried by a conveyor belt (7) at a high speed, a second belt (5) is taken close to the first (7) and there are controlled means (20-26) by which individual tin bodies (11, 13) can be transferred to the second conveyor belt (5). It is thus possible to separate the sequence of tin bodies into two sequences, thus facilitating further processing.
