The present invention provides a method in a base station for transmitting cell information. The base station is comprised in a radio access network. The base station is adapted to communicate over a radio link with a user equipment located in a cell in the radio access network. The cell is served by the base station and is surrounded by neighbour cells. The method comprises the step of sending a message to the user equipment, using a point-to-point connection over the radio link. The message comprises neighbour cell information to assist the user equipment in handling mobility in idle mode

Abstract:
The present invention refers to methods and systems for enabling paging and DRX in a hybrid cellular communication system comprising a core network (CN) and radio access network (RAN) employing different paging techniques. The core network is associated with a DRX parameter of a CN associated parameter set, which according to the invention, is mapped to a value of a RAN associated parameter set. This resulting value may then be used by the radio access network and/or a mobile station for determining a present paging period of the mobile station. Furthermore, methods of selecting DRX parameters for a mobile station in different operational modes are provided. The invention is particular applicable to a communication system including a GERAN radio access network operating in Iu mode.

La presente invención se refiere a métodos y disposiciones en radiotelecomunicaciones móviles para permitir el acceso a servicios Conmutados por Circuitos (CS) para un equipo de usuario (UE) que se conecta a una red de LTE/SAE (Evolución a Largo Plazo/Evolución de la Arquitectura del Sistema). La posición actual del UE se almacena en un formato de posición de LTE en la red de LTE o en la red de SAE. La invención proporciona etapas y medios para transformar la posición del UE en el formato LTE a la información de posición en el formato de CS para el UE, etapas y medios para registrar el UE en la red de CS utilizando la información de posición transformada y etapas y medios para establecer acceso a servicios de CS proporcionados por la red de CS.
