    Abstract: A controlling device, such as ASIC, supplies a clock signal to a controlled device, for example in a mobile phone or other portable battery operated electronic equipment. The presence or absence of a clock signal controls the power supply to the controlled device. This avoids power consumption in analog as well as digital circuits, when in a standby state, while only using a single output pin on the controlling ASIC.
