    Abstract: A display device (1;31), capable of providing visual displays (2) from electrical input signals, is controlled by means of a presentation application program adapted to convert data files representing images to be displayed into electrical input signals for the display device. Instructions are transmitted to said presentation application program from a portable telecommunications device (5;75) having an information access program for accessing a global information network, and a communication application program for communication with said information access program, and for controlling the presentation application program, is executed. In this way the display device can be controlled from the portable telecommunications device instead of a PC. A user does not have to carry a PC to the presentation location, and the need to struggle with a good deal of setting up before a presentation can be shown is avoided.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for providing a camera accessory to a wireless mobile terminal in a wireless radiocommunication system. The wireless mobile terminal has an image data interface and a physical interface for detachably coupling the camera accessory thereto. One or more frames of image data is captured in the camera accessory and compressed according to one or more compression formats. The captured and compressed frames are transferred to the wireless mobile terminal over the image data interface. The camera accessory does not include a display. Image data is captured in a predetermined format including a CIF format. Still image frames are compressed using a JPEG format and an image stream is compressed using an MPEG format. The captured and compressed frames are transferred to the wireless mobile terminal over the image data interface using respective predetermined formats including RGB CIF, YUV CIF, JPEG, MPEG, and MPEG-4 with CIF to QCIF conversion format. The image data interface includes a wired interface and wherein the camera accessory derives a power supply from the wireless mobile terminal or includes a wireless interface.

    Abstract: A method of using a cellular telephone (2) connectable to at least one sound reproducing unit (10) for playback of audio signals comprises the steps of downloading a digitized and compressed audio file from the Internet (12) to a computer (3), transferring the compressed audio file from the computer (3) to a portable storage medium (7), connecting an accessory device (8) to the telephone (2), inserting the portable storage medium (7) into the accessory device (8), decompressing the digitized and compressed audio file in the accessory device (8), playing back the decompressed audio file as audibly perceptible signals via the sound reproducing unit (10), reducing during telephone calls the sound level of the audibly perceptible signals, and using the sound reproducing unit (10) for the telephone conversation. Thus, a user can listen to signals from audio files or use the cellular telephone without having to carry more than one device.

    Abstract: An accessory device (8; 19) for use in connection with a mobile telephone (1) and connectable to at least one sound reproducing unit (13) comprises means for playing back audio files as audibly perceptible signals via the sound reproducing unit (13). It further comprises cable means (9) for connection to the mobile telephone (1), and a microphone (11). By using a cable between the accessory device and the mobile telephone the two devices can be placed separated from each other. This removes the risk of breaking the two devices from each other, and the accessory device can be designed independently of the design of a specific phone model. By further incorporating a microphone in the device there is no longer a need for having a microphone in the headset, and thus a normal standard headset without a built-in microphone can be used.
