    Abstract: A system and method for obtaining an electronic receipt for a transaction between a mobile terminal and a merchant is disclosed. Upon performance of a transaction between the mobile terminal and the merchant, the merchant transmits an electronic receipt to a remotely located computer which is associated with the mobile terminal. When the remote computer receives the electronic receipt, it stores the receipt within a storage area associated with the remote computer and transmits a notification to the mobile terminal that the electronic receipt has been received.
