Abstract:
A method and apparatus for enabling delivery of a message in a communication system comprising an IMS domain and a circuit switched domain. Upon receiving a registration message in the IMS domain from a user equipment operated by a user, wherein the message comprises an Equipment Identifier valid for the user equipment and an IMPI valid for the user, the Equipment Identifier and the IMPI are extracted from the received message. Then a creation or an update of a mapping of the Equipment Identifier to the IMPI and a C-MSISDN is initiated. Upon receiving a message, relating to the user, which is to be communicate between the IMS and circuit switched domains in the communication system, a use of the mapping for translating between the Equipment Identifier, IMPI and the C-MSISDN is initiated.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement is disclosed for managing session keys for secure communication between a first and at least a second user device in a communications network. The method is independent of what type of credential each user device implements for security operations. A first user receives from a first key management server keying information and a voucher and generates a first session key. The voucher is forwarded to at least a responding user device that, with support from a second key management server communicating with the first key management server, resolves the voucher and determines a second session key. First and second session keys are, thereafter, used for secure communication. In one embodiment the communication traverses an intermediary whereby first and second session keys protect communication in their respective leg to said intermediary.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention provide a mechanism to utilize IMS media security mechanisms in a CS network and, thereby, provide end-to-end media security in the case where the media traffic travels across both a CS network and a PS network.
Abstract:
A method of ensuring that a currently reachable contact address is registered for a user terminal within an IP Multimedia Subsystem, the method comprising registering a first contact address for said terminal with the IP Multimedia Subsystem, subsequently determining on a network side that said terminal is no longer reachable via said first contact address, and as a consequence of such a determination, registering on the network side a second reachable contact address on behalf of the user terminal, with the IP Multimedia Subsystem.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and nodes for supporting a session transfer, for a user equipment, from a circuit switched network to a packets witched network. According to one aspect a method for operating a control node of a core network is provided. The method comprises the steps: requesting from a radio access network of the circuit switched network information on whether a capability of the user equipment related to the session transfer are compatible with a network configuration related to the session transfer; receiving from the radio access network an indication whether the capability of the user equipment and the network configuration are compatible; determining whether to indicate that the session transfer is supported by using the received compatibility indication; and setting an indication whether the session transfer is supported according to the determination.
Abstract:
A method of delivering an application key or keys to an application server for use in securing data exchanged between the application server and a user equipment, the user equipment accessing a communications network via an access domain. The method comprises running an Authentication and Key Agreement procedure between the user equipment and a home domain in order to make keying material available to the user equipment and to an access enforcement point. At least a part of said keying material is used to secure a communication tunnel between the user equipment and the access enforcement point, and one or more application keys are derived within the home domain using at least part of said keying material. Said application key(s) is(are) provided to said application server, and the same application key(s) derived at the user equipment, wherein said access enforcement point is unable to derive or have access to said application key(s).
Abstract:
A method of Dual Radio Access Transfer of an IP Multimedia session, IMS, in an alerting phase for the Packet Switched to Circuit Switched direction. The method comprises initiating an IMS media session towards a terminating mobile station, UE and, during a session alerting phase, making a determination at the UE that a DRVCC transfer is required from a Packet Switched, PS, to a Circuit Switched, CS, access. The method comprises sending a SIP message from the UE to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server, SCC-AS, over the PS access, informing the SCC-AS of the DRVCC transfer, and responding to receipt of the SIP message at the SCC-AS by sending a SIP INVITE from the SCC-AS towards a Mobile Switching Centre, MSC, serving the UE in the CS access, the INVITE including an identity of the UE as a called party identity and the STN as the calling party identity. The method further comprises responding to receipt of said INVITE at the MSC, or to receipt of associated CS signalling, by sending from the MSC to the UE a CS Setup message, whereupon the MSC is placed in a state in which it expects a CS Answer from the UE.
Abstract:
A method for improving session continuity for a terminal (204`) in a serving communication network (202`) distinct from a home communication network (200`) of the terminal (204`), wherein the serving communication network (202`) comprises a session transfer node (208`) for transferring sessions each comprising signaling data and media data from a first access network (210`) of the serving communication network (202`) to a second access network (212`) of the serving communication network (202`) comprises the following: Routing signaling data of a session of the terminal (204`) between the first access network (210`) and the home communication network (200`) via the session transfer node (208`) in the serving communication network (202`), receiving a session transfer request requesting the transfer of the session from the first access network (210`) to the second access network (212`) for the terminal (204`), and transferring the session from the first access network (210`) to the second access network (212`), and routing the signaling data of the session of the terminal (204`) between the second access network (210`) and the home communication network (200`) via the session transfer node (208`).
