Abstract:
A method for handling Short Messages in a telecommunications network supporting number portability at a serving node (33, 43, 53), comprising the steps of receiving (615) a short message for a receiving entity (32, 42, 52) and fetching a subscriber mobile station number from the short message; interrogating (620) a number portability register (34, 44, 54) for receiving a charging-related identifier representative of the network to which the mobile station number is ported; forwarding (625) the identifier to a Service Control Function node (36, 46, 56) for charging the short message according to porting information carried by the identifier; and sending (635) the short message to the receiving entity (32, 42, 52).
Abstract:
The invention refers to a first method for controlling a media session involving a plurality of media streams within a communications network, wherein a media control node (104) determines (S13) that selected media streams out of the plurality of media streams are associated to each other in a media session, generates (S14) an instruction to group the selected media streams of the media session, and transmits (S15) the instruction to group the selected media streams to the media resource node (108), an a corresponding second method for initiating a media session involving a plurality of media streams wherein a further media control node (102) determines (S6) grouping capabilities of the further media resource node (106) to group selected media streams out of the plurality of media streams generates (S7) in dependence said grouping capabilities a session offer comprising an information of grouping the selected media streams, and transmits (S8) the session offer to the further media resource controller (104).The invention further refers to corresponding media control nodes (102, 104) to a communication network an to programs for performing each of the methods.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a method for providing dumps. The method is performed in a first functional entity of a distributed environment of a telecommunication network. The first functional entity may communicate with a second functional entity. During a call set-up procedure typically a unique identification is exchanged between the first and the second functional entity. When an error is detected, information related to the call is dumped and the unique identifier is associated thereto. Furthermore, a message is generated which comprises a signal descriptor indicating that the message is generated in response to a detected error. Subsequently, the generated message is send to the second functional entity to provoke a dump of information related to the call and associating the unique identification. Furthermore, alternative embodiments and devices adapted for the methods are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for a location update in a mobile communication system with a home location register (HL) and visitor location registers (VL) is described. The visitor location registers (VL) serve different parts of the area covered by the communication system and the home location register (HL) holds a data record assigned to a user, the data record comprising parameters for the establishment of connections with the user and an identification of the visitor location register (VL) presently serving the user. Parameters from the record can be copied from the home location register (HL) to the visitor location register (VL) serving the user. In the method it is detected that a user has entered the area served by a visitor location register (VL) and a location update message (18) is sent which indicates the identity of the visitor location register (VL) to the home location register (HL) and stored in the data record for the user. When the establishment of a connection with the user is requested, parameters from the data record in the home location register (HL) are sent to the serving visitor location register (VL) during the establishment of the connection. Location registers and programs embodying the invention are also described.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate to e.g. a method performed by an orchestration node for managing network interfaces. The orchestration node sends to a function manager, trunk-port specific information of a trunk port to enable the function manager to unambiguously orchestrate trunk ports.
