Abstract:
A method for roaming of a wireless mobile communication unit, a service support node and a proxy gateway support node for roaming between Public Land Mobile Networks, as well as a mobile communication infrastructure network arranged to handle roaming between different PLMN areas, where the support node is located in a current PLMN and arranged to send a context request to a first service support node in another PLMN for a user equipment, receive a context response from the first service support node, send a context acknowledgement to the first service support node, send an update location message to a home location register of the user equipment, receive a relocate PDP context response from the second proxy gateway support node and send a relocate PDP context request to a second proxy gateway support node in the current PLMN.
Abstract:
Methods for managing device connectivity of machine type communications devices include receiving a packet data protocol based command addressed to a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device, determining if the MTC device has an active packet data protocol context, in response to determining that the MTC device does not have an active packet data protocol context, activating a packet data protocol context for the MTC device, and forwarding the packet data protocol based command to the MTC device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solution for handling protocol translation issues in a mixed communication protocol network (220). The solution may be implemented as a node (210), a network, a system, and computer program code. The solution involves a translation function between EPS and GPRS functionality and part of the solution uses a database holding a lookup table for updated and quick response to translation operations.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a manner of providing signaling resiliency in a broadcast communications network, such as an MBMS network, which sends control signals from a gateway node to multiple access nodes via an IP network. For each transmitted control signal message, at least one repetitive control signal message is transmitted, usually multiple times at predetermined intervals. The repetitive signal includes the same session control information as the original session control message, and may also include an indication that it is a repeat control message. It may also include a unique identifier to be read by the access nodes, enabling them discard the packet without further processing if the unique identifier indicates that it has received the same control information previously. In a preferred embodiment, several repeat session control messages are aggregated into a single group message and transmitted, and which may also be provided with a unique identifier to facilitate early discard if appropriate.

Abstract:
The present invention proposes a solution for providing multicast/broadcast service to users roaming between different operational domains. In particular it is proposed to provide means enabling the user to contact a home multicast/broadcast server. Said means might be a request being triggered by the user. Said request includes a network identifier identifying the visited operational domain, which is provided to the multicast/broadcast server. The latter decides on a provision method for providing the at least one multicast/broadcast service to the user in the visited operational domain considering rules for a provision of multicast/broadcast services in the visited operational domain and the request triggered by the user. Further the multicast/broadcast server determines a second parameter set for accessing the at least one multicast/broadcast service in the visited operational domain according to the provision method and informs the user about the second parameter set.
