Abstract: On a fist aspect, the spectacle lens (10) is selected as including a transparent support (21) in which is coded an identifier (20) readable by an external reading tool (22) for retrieving said identifier (20). A distant server (23) is contacted using the identifier (20) and data related to the spectacle lens (10) is so gathered. On a second aspect, data related to the spectacle lens is provided to a predetermined database (25). Upon receiving a request issued from a requester, the database (25) is accessed and at least some of said data is retrieved, the request including at least part of the identifier, and the retrieved data is sent to the requester.
