Abstract:
A photochromic structure MPH comprises a plastic substrate P1 of optical quality, i.e. one with good light transparency, at least one side of which has a layer of adhesive A1 impregnated with a solution of a solvent S with photochromic species CR1, constituting a flexible host matrix M1 for the photochromic species CR1, which is transferred by adhesion onto another substrate. In this way what is obtained is a structure having a flexible photochromic matrix, which is homogeneous and has a rapid switching time, especially a rapid relaxation time. In one configuration, this structure is transferable and advantageously repositionable. It is produced by a method using a roll coating process combined with a system for dispensing the solvated solution of photochromic species upstream of the coating rolls, in which method a strip substrate bearing an adhesive is conveyed by the rolls, and the adhesive is progressively impregnated and then laminated onto another substrate. Application to optical devices.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for making a device including at least one closed enclosure filled with at least one liquid and sealed by at least one flexible membrane containing an elastic material, wherein said method comprises the steps of: a) depositing at least one given material in a liquid form on a substrate (100); b) at least partially curing said given material (130); low-pressure depositing an elastic material on said cured material in order to form a membrane, the membrane and the substrate defining at least one closed enclosure filled with said given material; d) melting said given material (130) in order to make the same liquid again within the closed enclosure.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to transparent electrochromic systems (100) which each include one pair of supply electrodes (1, 2) and at least one pair of polarisation electrodes (3, 4). The polarisation electrodes prevent a reaction of mutual neutralisation of the electroactive substances of the systems from causing unnecessary consumption of electric current. Said electrodes also prevent a neutralisation reaction from limiting a lower value of light transmission of the systems. For this purpose, the polarisation electrodes produce an electric field (E) inside the systems, which attracts the electroactive substances that have already reacted with the supply electrodes to different areas.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a transparent electrochromic system (100), including a cellular structure (13), two power supply electrodes (1, 2) together supported on a single wall (10), and at least one additional electrode (3). Said additional electrode can be used as a reference electrode or as a polarization electrode. Said additional electrode can also form a condenser with a fourth electrode that is added to the system, in order to control a migration of certain electroactive substances responsible for coloring and decoloring the system. The operation of the system can thus be improved.
