Abstract: A method is disclosed for imparting impact resistance to a plastic ophthalmic lens. The method consists of applying a coating of a multifunctional acrylate in a solvent mixture to the back surface of the lens, and curing the multifunctional acrylate to form an impact resistance imparting coat. The multifunctional acrylate preferably has at least about 40%, by weight, of a difunctional acrylate. The multifunctional acrylate preferably has a glass transition temperature less than about 60 DEG C. Lenses with an impact resistance imparting coat on the back, and an abrasion resistant coat on at least the front of the lens, are also disclosed.

Abstract: Un método para fabricar una lente oftálmica transparente tridimensional que comprende las siguientes etapas: /1/ constituir al menos un vóxel de una composición líquida (A) en un estado 1a; /2/ incrementar, de 5 a 20 veces a través de un procedimiento, la viscosidad de al menos uno de dichos vóxeles constituidos de una composición líquida (A) para llevarlos desde un estado 1a hasta un estado 2a; /3/constituir al menos un vóxel de una composición líquida (B) en un estado 1b; /4/ interdifundir espontáneamente o a través de un tratamiento físico y/o químico al menos un vóxel de una composición líquida (A) en estado 2a con (i) un vóxel de una composición líquida (A) en un estado 1a o 2a, con (ii) un vóxel de una composición líquida (B) en un estado 1b o con (iii) un vóxel de una composición líquida (B) cuya viscosidad se incrementa desde el estado 1b hasta un estado 2b, para crear un elemento intermedio (n); /5/ repetir, (X) veces, al menos una de las etapas seleccionadas de /1/, /2/, /3/ y /4/ para formar un elemento intermedio (n+(X)) hasta que se obtiene una lente oftálmica transparente tridimensional, y, cuando se repiten al menos dos etapas de dichas etapas, dichas al menos dos etapas se pueden repetir en el mismo orden que se cita o en orden diferente según el compuesto o los compuestos químicos implicados en dicha composición líquida (A) y dicha composición líquida (B); y /6/ opcionalmente aplicar al menos un postratamiento después de al menos una etapa seleccionada de la etapa /3/, /4/ y /5/ para mejorar la homogeneización de al menos uno de los elementos intermedios de (n) a (n+(X)) y/o de la lente oftálmica transparente .
