    Abstract: 1287443 Gasoline ESSO RESEARCH & ENG CO 1 June 1970 [6 June 1969] 28835/69 Heading C5G Fuels comprise gasoline 0À00001-0À02 wt. per cent of (i) a monomeric C 8 -C 39 polycarboxylic acid or anhydride, ester, amide or imide thereof and 0À01-5 wt. per cent of (ii) a non-aromatic alcohol, glycol or polyol. Many examples of (i) and (ii) are given including alkenyl succinic acids and anhydrides and reaction products thereof with polyamines, hydroxyamines and C 1 -C 20 alcohols, C 2 -C 10 glycols, polyethylene and polypropylene glycol, trimethylol propane and pentaerythritol. The gasoline may also contain an ester of an alkoxylated phenol-aldehyde resin Œ a copolymer of one or more alkylene oxides with an alkanolamine. Conventional gasoline additives such as ethylene dibromide and dichloride, 2,4-dimethyl- 6,t-butyl phenol and N,N 1 -di-sec-butyl-p-phenylene diamine may also be present.
