Abstract: In a heterogeneous cellular communication network, a macro cell equipped with a base station may be configured to support one or more macro user equipment (UE) and one or more micro cells, each of which further serves as proxies of one or more micro UE for wireless communications between the micro UE and the macro cell. The base station may be configured to assign a first cell ID to the macro cell and other cell IDs that have a mathematical distinction from the first cell ID to the micro cells.
