Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a frame for spectacles to which a filament is attached suitable for the frame for the spectacles provided with especially thin rigid parts (a bridge and a half rim). CONSTITUTION: Respective lenses are clamped between the relatively rigid half rim 12 and the filament 13. The half rim 12 is fixed to a tenon 17 and a cavity opened through an orifice 22 for forming a keyhole slot is formed at the tenon 17. The filament 13 is provided with a knot 19 held inside the cavity by the keyhole slot.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an advantageous combination in which the holding of a rim or a peripheral frame and a lens is appropriate by giving large thickness in the center part of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame. CONSTITUTION: The center part 18 of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 has large thickness E2 in the center area. Namely, the center part 18 has thickness E2 larger than the thickness E3 of the end of the center part connected to side flanges 19. The section of the inner side S1 of the center part 18 on the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 has a projecting form. The inner face of the center part 18 is round and it is engaged with the inner face of the side flanges 19. The center part 18 is positioned between the side flanges 19 through a part having a large curvature radius. The cross section of a strip 22 has a T-shape outline and it has side arms 26 arranged between the side flanges 19 of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 and a center web 28 received in a groove 29 provided at the edge 22 of the lens 14.
