Abstract:
A roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprising a mill housing (2) enclosing a grinding (3) table and a set of rollers rotatable about a vertical shaft (4), said set of rollers being configured for interactive operation with the grinding table (3) and comprising a number of rollers (5) each rotating about a roller shaft (6) which is connected to the vertical shaft (4) via a hinged connection (7) with a centre of rotation (8) which allows a free circular movement of the roller (5) in upward and downward direction in a plane comprising the centreline (9) of the roller shaft (6), said centre of rotation (8) of the hinged connection (7) in a vertical plane is located under the centreline (9) of the roller shaft (6). The roller mill is peculiar in that the grinding table (3) is rotatable about the vertical shaft (4) and in that the roller mill (1) comprises means (10,11) for introducing gases into the mill housing (2) and means (12) allowing for continuously diverting ground material suspended in gases out of the mill housing (2). It is hereby obtained that the grinding process is performed continuously as the material fed to the grinding table is transported across the grinding table, by means of the centrifugal forces to which the material is subjected due to the rotation of the grinding table, to the rollers where it is ground and subsequently suspended in the gas introduced in the mill housing, whereafter the ground material in suspended form is diverted through an outlet connected to the mill housing.
Abstract:
Described is a roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprising a substantially horizontal grinding table (3) and at least one roller (4) operating interactively therewith, said roller rotating about a roller shaft (6) which is connected to a vertical central shaft (5) via a hinged connection (7) which allows the roller to move freely up and down in a plane comprising the centreline (12) of the roller shaft. The roller mill is peculiar in that it comprises means (10, 11, 12) for regulating the angular position of the roller (4) relative to the horizontal plane of the grinding table (3) during the operation of the roller mill. Hence it will be possible to regulate the specific grinding pressure being applied to the material during the operation of the roller mill. At the same time it will be possible to regulate the wear pattern on the roller and the grinding table so that uneven wear on these parts is avoided.

Abstract:
A description is provided of a roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprises a mill housing (2), a substantially horizontal grinding table (3) and a number of rollers (4) each rotating about a roller shaft (5) which is connected to a rotatably vertical shaft (6) centrally positioned relative to the grinding table (3) where the rollers (4) are configured for interactive operation with the grinding table (3). The roller mill is characterized in that the grinding table (3) is stationary and in that it (1) comprises means (8) for introducing gases into the mill housing (2) and means (7) for continuously diverting ground material suspended in gases out of the mill housing (2). As a consequence hereof, the process for a roller mill with a stationary grinding table will be continuous and the diameter of the grinding table will not be subject to limitations.

A description is provided of a roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprises a mill housing (2) surrounding a substantially horizontal grinding table (3), a number of rollers (4), each rotating about a roller shaft (5), configured for interactive operation with the grinding table (3) and means for introducing gases into the mill housing (2). The roller mill is characterized in that the means for introducing gases into the mill housing (2) comprises an annular duct (7) having openings (8) in a wall (9) facing the grinding table (3) and being located around the outer circumference of the grinding table (3). As a consequence hereof, a significant reduction of the pressure loss in a roller mill and thus a significant reduction of the energy consumption will be ensured.
