Abstract:
A roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprising a mill housing (2) enclosing a grinding (3) table and a set of rollers rotatable about a vertical shaft (4), said set of rollers being configured for interactive operation with the grinding table (3) and comprising a number of rollers (5) each rotating about a roller shaft (6) which is connected to the vertical shaft (4) via a hinged connection (7) with a centre of rotation (8) which allows a free circular movement of the roller (5) in upward and downward direction in a plane comprising the centreline (9) of the roller shaft (6), said centre of rotation (8) of the hinged connection (7) in a vertical plane is located under the centreline (9) of the roller shaft (6). The roller mill is peculiar in that the grinding table (3) is rotatable about the vertical shaft (4) and in that the roller mill (1) comprises means (10,11) for introducing gases into the mill housing (2) and means (12) allowing for continuously diverting ground material suspended in gases out of the mill housing (2). It is hereby obtained that the grinding process is performed continuously as the material fed to the grinding table is transported across the grinding table, by means of the centrifugal forces to which the material is subjected due to the rotation of the grinding table, to the rollers where it is ground and subsequently suspended in the gas introduced in the mill housing, whereafter the ground material in suspended form is diverted through an outlet connected to the mill housing.
Abstract:
Described is a method as well as an apparatus for incineration of combustible waste during the manufacture of cement clinker by which method the waste is introduced via a waste inlet (11) and supported on a supporting surface (21) incorporated in a separate compartment (9), where the waste being actively transported, while simultaneously subjected to incineration, through the compartment to its outlet (23), where the hot exhaust gases produced in connection with the incineration of the waste being vented to the preheater system for heating the cement raw meal, and where the slag generated during the waste incineration process being extracted from the compartment (9). The method and the apparatus are peculiar in that exhaust gases containing NOx are introduced to the compartment (9).
Abstract:
A description is given of a method for controlling the material feed to a roller mill for continuous grinding of particulate material, such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, which roller mill comprises a substantially horizontal grinding table (1) and a number of rollers (2) operating interactively therewith, said rollers rotating about separate roller shafts (3) which are connected to a vertical central shaft (4) via a hinged connection (5) allowing a free circular movement of the roller up and down in a plane comprising the centreline (6) of the roller shaft, where material to be ground is continuously fed to the roller mill, with ground material being continuously diverted from the roller mill. The method is peculiar in that an angle ( α ) between at least one of the roller shaft centrelines (6) and a reference line (18) is measured and used as an input signal for a control circuit for controlling the material feed. Hereby is obtained a fast and adequate control of the material feed which takes due account of the immediate operating environment in the roller mill in terms of material charge, ie the amount of material present in the roller mill at any given time. This is due to the fact that variations in the angular positions of the roller shafts will provide a prompt and significant indication of any tendency towards overfilling or emptying of the mill.
Abstract:
A description is given of a roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials. The roller mill comprises a force device (8) for at least partial absorption of an axial force originating at least from the roller and acting in the longitudinal direction of the roller shaft (6). Said force device (8) comprising a first part (9) and a second part (10), where the first and second part (9, 10) comprise opposing pressure surfaces (9a, 10a) which both forming between them a compartment (11) where the pressure surface (9a) on the first part is provided so that it is oriented in the opposite direction to the axial force acting in the longitudinal direction of the roller shaft, and means (12) for introducing a pressurized viscous medium into the compartment between the opposing pressure surfaces. Hereby is obtained an efficient and adjustable force device for relieving the axial force exerted on the roller bearing which may thus be constituted by commercially available bearings.
Abstract:
A filter press having a plurality of stackable filter plate assemblies comprises at least one turbidity sensing module [20, 220, 320, 420] coupled to a first filter plate assembly [1] within the plurality of stackable filter plate assemblies. The turbidity sensing module [20, 220, 320, 420] is generally positioned between a filtrate drain opening [8a-d] communicating with a filter chamber [14], and either a filtrate port [7, 13] or filtrate discharge tube [4g, 15], in order to determine a level of turbidity of filtrate [50] exiting said first filter plate assembly. Turbidity levels may be determined independently of turbidity levels of filtrate [50] exiting other filter plate assemblies [1] within the filter press. When turbidity levels reach a predetermined threshold, and alarm [80] is activated, which informs an operator of the need to replace a filter cloth associated with the affected filter plate assembly [1].
