    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method which bidirectionally connects 1st and 2nd satellite communication system which operate with different protocols. SOLUTION: A 1st system uses a spread spectrum(SS) code division multiple access(CDMA) technique, and a satellite 12 functions as a repeater. A 2nd system uses a time division multiple access technique, and a protocol conversion unit 70G that is installed on the ground receives communication from either of the 1st and 2nd systems and converts transinformation into transinformation, which is suitable for the other systems. SS-CDMA transinformation is received by the 1st system, converted into a TDMA format, and further transmitted into the 2nd system. Next, communication is sent to a ground station of the 2nd system, after being relayed between at least two satellites and connected to a local public exchange telephone line network.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the reference information of satellite attitude control from an installation type reference transmitter by measuring a difference between the predicting gain and the measured gain of the receiving of signal, which is based on the predetermined recognition of space change of the gain of a satellite antenna, so as to lead the correcting signal for showing the attitude error of a satellite. SOLUTION: Signal from a reference transmitter 10 is sent to a sub beam 4, and received by receiver antenna 30 of a satellite 1, and while relayed to a ground station 8 by a satellite antenna 32 so as to measure the attitude correcting signal. This attitude correcting signal is received by the ground station 8 so as to measure the gain, and this measured gain is compared with a predicting gain of the receiving of signal based on the predetermined recognition of a space change of the gain of the satellite antenna 32, and a difference of the comparison is measured so as to lead the correcting signal for showing the attitude error of the satellite 1. The reference information of the satellite attitude control can be thereby obtained from an installation type reference transmitter 10.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use overlapped footprint-shapes, to increase the connectivity of a system and to increase the availability of service in a low earth orbit satellite communication system. SOLUTION: This system uses at least one low earth orbit (LEOS) relay station 70 in a ground area, where at least two satellite service areas overlap and relays communication from a gateway 18A that is connected to one service area to a gateway 18B which is connected to other service areas. Plural LEOS relay stations are provided for sending communication such as voice via plural gateways and service areas. Therefore, communication can circulate through considerable parts in a ground communications system that constitutes a base.
