Abstract:
Aspects relate to placement of navigational controls on the left bottom position, the right bottom position, or both the left bottom and right bottom position on a tablet computer display. The placement selection of the navigational controls can be a function of orientation of a user's thumb(s). A navigational area can be defined with respect to a range of movement of the user's thumb(s) and/or size of the user's thumb(s). Further, the navigational controls can be switched between left-hand control and right-hand control as a function of a user preference. When the display is switched between portrait and landscape mode, the navigational controls can be automatically adjusted as a function of the navigational area and the display mode.
Abstract:
A dynamic media player is disclosed. A method for providing the dynamic media player includes presenting a media player in a first portion of a user interface (UI) of a content sharing platform on a mobile device. The media player is to provide playback of a media item. The method further includes receiving, via a second portion of the UI, a user request to perform an activity that is independent of the viewing of the media item. The method further includes presenting content associated with the requested activity while continuing to provide playback of the media item in the media player of the first portion of the UI.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for producing a representation of a display of a three-dimensional virtual reality environment and defining a dress form object within the virtual reality environment. The virtual reality environment is configured to receive interactive commands from at least one input device coupled to a computing device and associated with a user. Fabric movement simulations are generated by animating the dress form object according to configured animation data and displayed in the virtual reality environment. The display being may be generated in response to receiving a movement pattern indicating movement of the dress form object.
Abstract:
In one general aspect, a system for providing a virtual reality (VR) space can include a mobile computing device, and a VR headset operatively coupled to the mobile computing device and including a screen. The mobile computing device can be configured to execute a VR application, and provide content for display on the screen of the VR headset in the VR space.
Abstract:
Promotional content provided by content providers is distributed to mobile devices to be displayed with designated videos on mobile devices. The promotional content is received from a content provider, e.g., via an API and associated with a video, group of videos or channel available from a video hosting server. The promotional content meets certain specifications set by the video hosting server. A mobile device requests promotional content for a selected video and the video hosting server provides any available promotional content to the mobile device. The promotional content is displayed with the selected video as designated by the content provider. Activation of the promotional content in some embodiments results in an action being invoked on the mobile device, such as loading of a uniform resource identifier. In some cases, the promotional content is cached by the mobile device for later use.
Abstract:
A method for providing an adjustable video player is disclosed. The method includes providing, by an electronic device, a content item player for playback of a content item in a portion of a user interface (UI) of an application executed on the electronic device and receiving an indication of a gesture to minimize the content item player made by a user of the electronic device. The method further includes minimizing the content item player into a mini-player shown on the application UI without interrupting the playback of the content item in the content item player.
Abstract:
In a general aspect, a system can include a leader device. The leader device can include an interface configured to display a plurality of preview images, each preview image corresponding with respective virtual reality (VR) content. The leader device also include a selection device configured to select a preview image of the plurality of preview images and a leader application configured to control presentation of the respective VR content associated with the selected preview image. The system can further include a plurality of participant devices that are operationally coupled with the leader device. Each participant device of the plurality of participant devices can be configured to, responsive to the leader device, display at least one image included in the respective VR content corresponding with the selected preview image.
Abstract:
In one general aspect, a method can include receiving, by a first computing device from a virtual reality (VR) headset, data indicative of a position of a second computing device, rendering, by the first computing device, an aspect of the second computing device for inclusion in a VR space based on the position of the second computing device, and integrating the rendered aspect of the second computing device with content for display as integrated content in the VR space. The method can further include providing the integrated content to the VR headset for display on a screen included in the VR headset, receiving data indicative of an interaction of a user with the second computing device, and based on the received data indicative of the interaction of the user with the second computing device, altering the content for display as integrated content in the VR space.
