Abstract:
The invention relates to a chewing gum comprising at least one biodegradable polymer in an amount of from about 0.1 % to about 99 %, said biodegradable polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) above 37°C and having a molecular weight (Mn) within the range of approximately 500 to 60000 g/mol and wherein said chewing gum comprises less than approximately 5% by weight of natural resins.
Abstract:
There is provided a chewing gum comprising at least one chewing gum polyester polymer, wherein at least a first part of said polyester polymer is obtainable by condensation polymerization and at least a further part of said polyester polymer is obtainable by ring-opening polymerization.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a chewing gum comprising gum base, sweetener and flavor, wherein at least a part of said gum base comprises at least one biodegradable polymer, where then tan(delta) is at least 0.6 within the linear viscoelastic region (LVR) of the chewing gum. According to the invention, it has been recognized that the texture may be referred to measurable rheological properties of the final chewing gum. Furthermore, it has been realized that biodegradable polymers may be adjusted towards desired rheological properties by means of so-called plasticizers, even if the chewing gum is made on the basis of biodegradable polymers, which as from the beginning, does not meet desired rheological properties.
Abstract:
The invention relates to chewing gum comprising at least two different biodegradable polymers. According to the invention, a chewing gum comprising at least two different biodegradable polymers exhibits an improved texture prior to any adding of for example softeners. It has been realized that the desired chewing gum texture properties, contrary to every expectation and any prior art disclosures, may actually be obtained when combining biodegradable chewing gum polymers, for example in the gum base or in the final gum.
Abstract:
The invention relates to degradable chewing gum polymer, said degradable polymer is a polymer polymerized from at least one trifunctional or higher functional initiator, at least two different monomers forming the backbone of the polymer and at least one monomer selected from the group of carbonate monomers. According to the invention it has been realized that a certain degree of branching of the backbone is needed to obtain a final improved performance, when the polymer, preferably the elastomer, is incorporated in a chewing gum. It has moreover been realized that the obtained degree of branching needs and may actually be carefully controlled in order to avoid too much branching-induced crosslinking.
Abstract:
There is provided a novel degradable gum base comprising low molecular weight elastomer replacement compounds which are generally applicable for chewing gum formulations. In particular there is provided a gum base and a chewing gum comprising a polyester polymer obtainable by the polymerisation of two or more different cyclic ester monomers, wherein the cyclic ester monomers have a low glass transition temperature (Tg) and the polyester polymer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) in the range from (-20 °C) to (-80 °C).
