Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the variation of an absorption coefficient of only a measuring object area by eliminating the influence of a non-measurement object area in a case when a measuring object area and the non-measuring object area exist in a scattering absorption member as a measuring object when the scattering absorption member is measured. SOLUTION: The pulse light of a predetermined wavelength incoming from a light incoming position S1 by a light injecting means 10, reaches optical detecting positions D1, D2 through each optical path while scattering, to be detected by an optical detecting means 20. A time waveform of the detected light is generated in a signal processing means 30 by using a detection signal generated by the optical detecting means 20. The variation of the absorbing coefficient of only the measuring object area is calculated by an operating means 40 on the basis of the time waveform assuming that a partial optical path length propagating the non-measuring object region Me is constant regardless of the optical path.
