Abstract: The invention relates to a fluorescence measuring apparatus to which a CCD camera capable of measuring fluorescent components emitted from a specimen corresponding to excitation pulse components emitted at regular intervals toward the specimen is applied. The fluorescence measuring apparatus has at least a CCD and a controller. The CCD includes photoelectric converters for implementing photoelectric conversion of the fluorescent components emitted from the specimen, and charge storage elements for storing and transferring charges resulting from the photoelectric conversion by the photoelectric converters. The controller outputs an electronic shutter signal for sweeping away the charge resulting from the photoelectric conversion by each photoelectric converter, a readout signal for reading the charge resulting from the photoelectric conversion, to the charge storage element, and a transfer signal for sequentially transferring the charge thus read. In particular, the controller outputs the electronic shutter signal corresponding to generation of each excitation pulse component, outputs the readout signal corresponding to output of the electronic shutter signal, and outputs the transfer signal per predetermined number of readout signals outputted.

Abstract: A fluorescence measuring device having a CCD camera applied thereto that is capable of measuring a fluorescent component emitted from a measurement subject in response to an excitation pulse component with which the measuring subject is periodically irradiated. The fluorescence measuring device is at least provided with a CCD, and a control section. The CCD comprises a photoelectric conversion element that photoelectrically converts fluorescent component emitted from a measurement subject, and a charge-storage element that stores and transfers the charges photoelectrically converted by the photoelectric conversion element. The control section outputs an electron shutter signal for sweeping away the charges photoelectrically converted by the photoelectric conversion element, a readout signal for reading out the photoelectrically converted charges into the charge-storage element, and a transfer signal for successively transferring the charges that have been read out. Particularly, the control section outputs an electron shutter signal in response to the generation of an excitation pulse component and outputs a readout signal in response to the outputting of the electron shutter signal, and outputs transfer signals every predetermined number of times of outputting of the readout signal.

SOLUTION: The CCD camera 10 is equipped with a CCD 101 including a photoelectric conversion element for receiving fluorescence 60 and performing photoelectric conversion thereof and a charge storage element for storing and transferring the charge photoelectrically-converted by the photoelectric conversion element, and a microcomputer 103 and a CCD driving circuit 102 for outputting an electron shutter signal for discharging the charge photoelectrically-converted by the photoelectric conversion element, a readout signal for reading out the photoelectrically converted charge onto the charge storage element, and a transfer signal for transferring successively the read-out charge. The microcomputer 103 and the CCD driving circuit 102 output the electron shutter signal corresponding to each generation of the pulse excitation light 50, output the readout signal corresponding to the output, and output the transfer signal corresponding to the output of the readout signal in the prescribed number of times.

SOLUTION: This image pickup unit 1a is provided with a solid-state image pickup element provided with an effective pixel part for photoelectrically converting light to be measured and an optical black part masked so as not to be irradiated with the light to be measured, an adjusting means for holding prescribed voltage on the basis of an output signal from the optical black part and using the held voltage to adjust the black level of an output signal from the effective pixel part, and a control means for outputting a first instruction signal for instructing the solid-state image pickup device to read an electric charge to be photoelectrically converted as an output signal and a second instruction signal for instructing the adjusting means to hold prescribed voltage, respectively. The control means outputs the second instruction signal so as to exceed a time required to hold at least the prescribed voltage before outputting the first instruction signal.
