Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pathogen and chemical detection systems for use with a user support apparatus and related methods.SOLUTION: A fluid or biologic sample from the vicinity of a person supported by a user support apparatus 10 is acquired and transmitted to a pathogen detection sensor 26. A graphical caregiver interface 30 is supplied with output from the pathogen detection sensor and detects the presence of a chemical. The graphical caregiver interface communicates with an electronic medical records database 32, alarm 38 and a nurse call system 36.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for predicting possibility of egress of an occupant and generating an alert to a caregiver when the possibility of the egress is high in an occupant holding structure.SOLUTION: A processor corresponding to at least two pieces of information on an egress motivating condition an egress prerequisite condition and egress preparation sequence for an occupant from an input device determines possibility that the occupant leases an occupant holding structure. A control system includes a storage device including a command for generating an alert to a caregiver when the possibility of the egress is high.
