Abstract: The invention relates to alkoxylation product mixtures of the formula I having a narrow alkoxyl distribution (I) where R is the radical of an organic compound containing at least one active hydrogen atom, m is an integer from 1 up to the number of active hydrogen atoms in the organic compound, x and y in each case are the average molar number of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide units and independently of one another are an integer from 2 to 10 and the individual alkoxylation units of the alkoxylation product mixture in each case at most have a degree of alkoxylation of 18% by weight. The invention further relates to a process for their preparation, and their use.
