Abstract:
Process for the dyeing of textile material of polyacrylonitrile which contains sulfonic acid groups, which comprises using as carriers compounds of the general formula
in which R1, R2 and R3 each represent a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom, an alkyl or alkoxy group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a nitro group, Ar represents a benzene or naphthalene ring, R4 represents a hydroxy-alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R5 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or hydroxy-alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a cyanoethyl group, an alkenyl group of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, a benzyl or cyclohexyl group. By using these compounds as carriers deep shades with an excellent levelness can be obtained and due to their high boiling point the danger of forming so-called carrier-spots on the goods is diminished.

Abstract:
hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, an alkyl residue or an alkoxy residue having one to four carbon atoms, with the sum of the carbon atoms of the residues R1 and R2 not exceeding the number seven, Ar denotes a benzene or naphthalene residue, R3 denotes hydrogen, an alkyl residue having not more than four carbon atoms, the Beta -cyanoethyl residue or a hydroxyalkyl residue having two to four carbon atoms, R4 denotes an alkylene radical having three to 15 carbon atoms in the chain which may furthermore optionally be substituted by methyl or ethyl groups, and m and n are each 1 or 2.
Abstract:
The dyeing or printing of fibrous materials is improved by using a compound of the formula R1-CHX-(CH2-CH2-O)n-R2 in which R1 is alkyl of four to 20 carbon atoms, X is chlorine or bromine, n is a number of three to about 200 and R2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical of up to 20 carbon atoms, alkylphenyl with up to 12 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, phenyl, naphthyl, benzyl, the acyl residue of a fatty acid of up to 18 carbon atoms, benzoyl or the group of the formula R1-CHXCH2-CH2, as dispersing, levelling or after treating agent. The improvement consists in the combination of dispersing and levelling properties.
Abstract:
