Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder which is self-cross-linkable, cures through the existing functional groups by the action of a known curing a gent and is useful for water-based coating preparations by using a specified aminourethane. SOLUTION: This binder comprises an aminourethane represented by formula IV [wherein R is OH or a group represented by formula V (wherein PI is a divalent residue of a polyisocyanate; and R is a residue of an aliphatic alcohol or the like); R ' is R ; and y is 1-10] and comprising structural units derived from a polyamine represented by formula I [wherein R is an alkylene; R is H or a (hydroxy) 1-8C alkyl; R is R or may be combined with R to form a cyclic group, or when R is H, it may be a specified residue; A is a chemical bond or a group represented by the formula:-(R -NH)r -R -NH-(wherein r is 0-6)] and structural units derived from an oligomer or polymer compound having at least one terminal 2-oxo-1,3-dioxolane group and represented by formula II [where in R is a residue represented by formula III (wherein X is H or CH3 ; u is 0-5; and V is 1-20) or the like; and z is 1-5].

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a novel amino urethane by reacting a specified polyamide with an oligomer or polymer compound having at least one terminal 2-oxo-1,3- dioxolane group in the presence of optionally a chain transfer agent. SOLUTION: This amino urethane comprises structural units each of which is derived from a polyamine (α) represented by the formula (wherein R is a divalent hydrocarbon residue, especially a 2-18 C linear or branched alkylene; R is hydrogen, especially a 1-8 alkyl or a hydroxyalkyl with a 1-8 C alkyl; R is R , provided that they may be combined with each other to form a cyclic group, etc.) and an oligomer or polymer (β) having at least one terminal 2- oxo-1,3-dioxolane group and is produced by reacting polyamine (α) with the oligomer or polymer (β) in the presence of optionally a chain transfer agent.

Abstract: 1. Aqueous epoxy resin dispersions containing (A) an epoxy resin which is a product of the condensation of (A-1) from 50 to 95 % by weight, preferably from 55 to 85 % by weight, of one or more epoxide compound(s) containing at least two epoxide groups per molecule and having an epoxide equivalent weight of from 100 to 2000 g/mol, (A-2) from 5 to 50 % by weight, preferably from 15 to 45 % by weight, of an aromatic polyol and (A-3) from 0 to 25 % by weight, preferably from 0 to 10 % by weight, of modifying compounds containing at least two epoxide reactive groups, (B) a dispersant comprising (B-1) a product of the condensation of a polyol having an average molecular weight of (Mw) of from 200 to 20,000 g/mol and an epoxide compound containing on average at least two epoxide groups per molecule and having an epoxide equivalent weight of from 100 to 10,000 g/mol and (B-2) optionally further, preferably nonionic surfactants, (C) the polymer, prepared in this dispersion, of ethylenically unsaturated monomers capable of free-radical polymerisation or copolymerisation, (D) a curing agent for the epoxy resin (A) and (E) optionally conventional additives and catalysts. These aqueous epoxy resin dispersions are suitable for the production of coatings, in particular for the internal coatings of beverage cans and preserve cans.
