Abstract: Phosphorus esters of formula (I) are new. R1 is H, 1-4C alkyl (opt. substd. by halo or phenyl, itself opt.substd. by 1 or 2 halo, 1-3C alkoxy or 1-3C alkyl), 2-6C alkoxyalkyl, phenyl (opt.substd. by 1-3 methyl, halo, 1-3C alkoxy or nitro) or pyridyl. R2 is 1-4C alkoxy. R3 is 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio, chloromethyl or phenyl. X is oxygen or sulphur. The E-stereoisomers of (I) are pref. (I) are made by reacting a 5-acetonyloxadiazole with Hal.P(X)R2R3. (I) are useful for control of insects, acarids and fungi in plant protection (they hava a partly systemic action) and also for protecting stored goods and in hygienic applications. As fungicides (I) have particular good activity against the true mildews and Podosphaera leucotricha.

Abstract: Organo phosphorus esters of formula (I), their salts with mineral acids, and derivs, in which the pyridine N-atom is quaternised with an alkyl group are new. In (I) R1 is 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy or phenyl; R2 is methyl; R3 is H, Cl or Br; R4 is H, 1-6C alkyl, 5-7C cycloalkyl, CN, -CO-R5, -COOR6, -CON- R7R8, p-NO2-C6H4-, or benzyl opt. substd. (pref. mono- or disubstd.) in the ring by 1-4C alkyl, halogen, 1-3C alkoxy, methylenedioxy and/or di(1-4C alkyl) amino; R5 is CH3, or phenyl opt. substd. by NO2 and/or Cl; R6 is 1-4C alkyl; R7 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R8 is H, 1-3C alkyl, or phenyl opt. substd. by halogen, CF3 and/or CH3; or R7+R8 are 4-5C methylene chain opt. interrupted by O, S, NH or N-(1-4C alkyl); Y1 is 1-4C alkyl; Y2 is 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, 1-4C alkoxy, NH2 or mono- or di(1-4C alkyl)amino; and X is O or S. (I) are active against phytopathogenic fungi, esp. true mildews on e.g. cucumbers, cereals, apple and ornamental plants. O,O,-diethyl-O-(3-(2-cyano-4,6-dimethyl-furo-(3,2-c)pyridyl))-thi- ophosphate in concn. of 500 mg/l. completely prevents Plasmopara infection of grapevines, and 250 mg/l. gives 95% protection.
