HF, serving as reaction medium and solvent, then distilling out the HF. The mixts. (A) are themselves claimed. Reaction is at -40 to 80, best 0-40, deg.C with reaction time 10 mins. 6 hr., best 1-2 hr. (not counting the time for HF distn.). The reaction mixt. contains 10-60 (25-35) wt.% (I), plus fatty acid reactant, with mole ratio 1:5-10:1.
