The compounds are suitable for use as cosmetic active compounds, in particular for cosmetic care of the hair.

Abstract: Cosmetic, pharmaceutical and technical compositions containing as a thickening agent cross-linked polymers obtained by copolymerizing 99.9 to 50 molar % of acrylamide, from 0 to 45 molar % of a compound of the formula I (I) in which R2 and R3 are hydrogen, or one of the radicals R2 and R3 is methyl, the other being hydrogen, X is cyano, alkoxycarbonyl whose alkoxy radical may also be substituted by -OH; alkanoyloxy, alkanoylamino which - if they have at least 4 carbon atoms - may also for a pyrrolidone or caprolactam ring; phenyl, carboxyl or trialkoxysilyl with 1 to 2 carbon atoms in the alkoxy groups, and from 0.1 to 20 molar % of a cross-linking agent in the presence of a radical initiator in a water-miscible alkanol, mixing the polymer dispersion obtained under the action of strong shearing forces with 5 to 99.9 molar % of an alkali metal hydroxide heating the mixture at a temperature of from 30 to 150.degree.C up to the saponification of 5 to 99.9 molar % of amide groups to form -COOM-groups, and either isolating the copolymer obtained or methylolating the amide groups with paraformaldehyde.

Abstract: of the disclosure: Pure 2-acyloxyalkane sulfonates-1 of the formula I (I) in which R1 represents a straight-chained or branched alkyl radical containing 6 to 16 carbon atoms, R2 represents a straightchained or branched alkyl radical containing 1 to 17 carbon atoms or phenyl, and M represents a monovalent metal ion, preferably an alkali metal ion, are prepared by reacting a 2-hy-droxyalkane sulfonate-1 of the formula II R1 - CH(OH)CH2SO3M (II) with an activated acid derivative of the formula III R2 - COX (III) in which R1, R2 and M have the meanings given above, and X represents an acyloxy group containing 2 to 18 carbon atoms or a halogen atom. These compounds are used as foaming agents for the formulation of preparations for the care of the teeth and mouth. They show a good foaming capacity and a pleasant taste.

Abstract: 23221-4469 This invention relates to a process for the preparation of a quaternary ester amine by reacting a glyceride with an alkanolamine, which comprises reacting a glyceride with an alkanolamine of the formula I below (R)3-x-N-¢(CH2CHR10)n-H!x in which R is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, x is 1, 2 or 3, n is an integer from 1 to 8, and R1 is H or CH3, it also being possible for the (CH2CHR10)n group to contain ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units, and quaternizing the reaction product obtained. These quaternary ester amines show strong surfactant action and can be employed in a wide variety of areas.

Abstract: of the diclosure: Softener-containing washing agents which, in addition to the customary components of washing agents, contain 0 to 10% by weight of a quaternary ammonium compound and 1 to 30% by weight of a softener system which comprises 10 to 90% by weight of a tertiary amine and 90 to 10% by weight of a crystalline sheet-silicate of the formula Me2SixO2x+1 ? y H2O in which Me denotes an alkali metal ion or a proton, x denotes a number greater than 7, in particular from 7.5 to 23, and y denotes a number smaller than 7 x, in particular smaller than x. In the softener system, the tertiary amine is in a state of adsorption on the alkali metal silicate. The ammonium compounds, which are adsorbed on said silicate, produce a softening effect in the washing agent but on the other hand are compatible with anionic surfactants in the washing agent.

Abstract: of the disclosure: Adsorbents for polar organic compounds can be prepared by reacting 5-80% of an organic ammonium compound with 20-95X of a crystalline alkali metal phyllosilicate belonging to the group comprising phyllosilicates of the formula Me2Six O2x+1 - y H2O in which Me denotes an alkali metal ion or a proton, x denotes a number greater than 7, in particular from 7.5 to 23, and y denotes a number smaller than 7 x. These organophilic phyllosilicic acids are capable of binding considerable amounts of organic compounds, such as, for example, fats or softeners. They are, therefore, excellently suitable for use as additives for enhancing the washing action in detergents or as a depot for organic compounds.

Abstract: Pearlescent dispersions consisting of a fatty acid glycol ester, a fatty acid alkanolamide, one or more surfactants of the formulae in which RS denotes a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group with 8-20 carbon atoms, n denotes a number from 0 to 10, preferably 2 to 5, and Y denotes all alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium ion, R6 denotes a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain with 7-29 carbon atoms, Z denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group with 1-5 carbon atoms, salts and water in the amount to make up to 100%. Pearlescent dispersions based on these surfactants have the advantage that they already have good flow properties at temperatures below 20.degree.C.
