Abstract: HOE 91/F 21 of the disclosure Process for the production of a planar optical coupler A process for the production of an optical coupler having any selectable geometry from a polymer film, wherein the film is situated on a plate which is stamped into the desired shape by means of a preheated stamping tool with the application of pressure. The process according to the invention permits the production of a large number of couplers within a short period of time, the couplers produced in this manner possessing a very homogeneous mixing region and good optical properties. The couplers produced by the process according to the invention are distinguished by particularly low insertion losses and excess losses.
