Abstract: Curing agents for epoxy resins comprising products of the reaction of (A) polyamidoamines obtained by polycondensation of (a) dicarboxylic acids containing oxyalkylene groups, or derivatives thereof, with (b) polyamines containing at least two amino groups which are capable of condensation with (a), (B) polyamines containing at least two secondary amino groups and (C) adducts of (c) polyepoxide compounds and (d) polyalkylene polyether polyols. Epoxy resins cured by means of these curing agents exhibits, in particular, very good water resistance.

Abstract: Curing agent for aqueous epoxy resin dispersions, obtained by reacting an adduct (A) of at least one polyepoxide (A1) and at least one polyalkylene polyether polyol (A2), where the adduct (A) may have been modified by means of a secondary amine (A3), with I. a product of the reaction of an amine (B) and an epoxide (C) or II. an amine (B) followed by reaction with an epoxide (C), where the amount of amine (B) is selected so that the H atoms on the nitrogen are present in a 2- to 10-fold excess, based on the epoxide groups in (A).

Abstract: Polyol-epoxide addition products obtained by reacting (A) an aliphatic polyol having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 200 to 20,000 g/mol and (B) an epoxide compound containing at least two epoxide groups per molecule and having an epoxide equivalent weight of from 100 to 2,000 g/mol, where the ratio between the number of equivalents of OH groups and the number of equivalents of EP groups is from 1:3.6 to 1:10, preferably from 1:4 to 1:9, particularly preferably from 1:4.5 to 1:8, and the epoxide equivalent weight of the addition product is between 150 g/mol and at least 8,000 g/mol, preferably between 250 g/mol and 1,000 g/mol. These addition products are used as nonionic emulsifiers in water-dilutable liquid epoxy resins.

Epoxy resins that have been cured with these hardeners exhibit in particular a very good water resistance.
