    Abstract: Production of phosphine. The phosphine is produced by reducing, in a first step, anhydrous zinc phosphate to zinc phosphide by treatment with carbon at a temperature higher than 1000 DEG C, and, in a second step, reacting the zinc phosphide formed in the first step with phosphoric acid. The resulting gaseous phosphine is collected, and the resulting zinc phosphate, which is obtained as a difficultly soluble precipitate, is dried, dehydrated and recycled to the first step.

    Abstract: Appts for recovering pure acids (R1O)(R2O)P(S)SH (I) (R1 and R2 are each 1-6C opt branched alkyl or cycloakyl) from their alkali metal or ammonium salts (II) by dissolving in strong mineral acid, then sepg. liq. phases, comprises a reactor provided with stirrer supply line and overflow. The hector is fitted with an internal cylindrical barrier reaching nearly to its base, and an external cylindrical barrier surrounding it. The reactor is positioned inside a separator, tapering towards a discharge valve at the bottom, and having an aeration opening and side overflow line liq overflowing through the reactor is caught in the separator. The process can be operated continuously and provides yields of up to 98%.

    Abstract: 1535711 Phosphine HOECHST AG 4 July 1977 [17 July 1976] 27882/77 Heading C1A In a process for the continuous production of phosphine by reacting yellow phosphorus with an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution in the presence of an alcohol, with the exclusion of oxygen, at 44 to 90‹ C., the phosphorus and alkali metal hydroxide solution being introduced separately from one another, the reaction is effected in two separate reaction stages, wherein, in the first reaction stage, the alkali metal hydroxide solution and phosphorus are continuously reacted with agitation in a molar ratio of 0.7:1 to 0.9:1, the resulting continuously produced gaseous phosphine is collected, and the resulting liquid phase material containing unreacted phosphorus is concurrently delivered to the second reaction stage; and, in the second reaction stage, the said unreacted phosphorus is reacted with further aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution and the resulting gaseous reaction products are collected separately from the gaseous phosphine collected in the first reaction stage.
