Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing ammoniacal diammonium carbonate solutions, an aqueous phase being circulated by a jet nozzle as the reaction zone, and ammonia and carbon dioxide being introduced into the reaction zone at the same time, ammonia and carbon dioxide being drawn into the reaction zone, being absorbed in the aqueous phase in the process, and being reacted. The associated apparatus comprises a stock vessel (1) for the aqueous phase, a circulation pump (2) and a reactor (4) designed as a jet nozzle, which units (1, 2, 4) are connected to one another in a circuit via a suction line (5), a discharge line (6) and an offtake line, formed as a diffuser (11), of the reactor (4), the reactor (4) being equipped with three intake ports (13, 14, 15) for ammonia, carbon dioxide and exhaust gas from the stock vessel (1), and the stock vessel (1), for example, having inlets (12, 18) formed as plunge pipes for the circulated ammoniacal diammonium carbonate solution as well as for the aqueous phase feed, and a vent line (16) and an offtake line (19) for the ammoniacal diammonium carbonate solution being provided.

Abstract: CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF PURE PHOSPHINE Phosphine is continuously produced by reacting yellow phosphorus with an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution in the presence of an alcohol, with the exclusion of oxygen, at 44 to 90.degree.C. To this end, the reaction is effected in two separate reaction stages. In the first reaction stage, the alkali metal hydroxide solution and phosphorus are reacted with agitation in a molar ratio of 0.7:1 to 0.9:1 and the resulting gaseous phosphine is collected. Resulting liquid phase material containing unreacted phosphorus is delivered to the second reaction stage in which the unreacted phosphorus is reacted with further aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution. The resulting gaseous reaction products are collected separately from the gaseous phosphine collected in the first reaction stage.

Abstract: PRODUCTION OF PHOSPHINE Phosphine is produced from elementary yellow phosphorus and an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution in the presence of an alcohol. The phosphine is more particularly made by using an alcohol having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms and a dissolving power for yellow phosphorus of more than 5 g/l; suspending the phosphorus with agitation in the said alcohol in a reaction zone; reacting the resulting suspension with the alkali metal hydroxide solution at temperatures lower than the boiling point of the alcohol; and collecting the resulting issuing gaseous phosphine.
