Abstract: An analyte test sensor strip is disclosed having information coded thereon as well as a method of forming the same and conducting an analyte test using the analyte test sensor strip. Information relating to an attribute of the strip or batch/lot of strips may be coded based on resistance values pertaining to electrical aspects of the strip, such as a primary resistive element and a secondary resistive element, the secondary resistive element having one of a plurality of states defined by a location of a closed tap to form a unique resistive path for the secondary resistive element that includes a portion of the primary resistive element depending on the location of the closed tap. The states may be formed on the strip by a secondary processing step in the manufacture of the strip in which a plurality of taps are severed leaving only one tap in a closed state.

Abstract: A device which supports identification of an integrated display and dynamic adjustments to operating parameters thereof includes: a port that receive a test strip having a reaction site for receiving a sample of fluid from a patient, a blood glucose (bG) meter cooperatively operable with a test strip inserted in the port to measure glucose in a sample of fluid on the test strip, and a display device having an electrically resistive component integrated therein and operable to display the glucose measurement in accordance with one or more operating parameters associated with the display device The system also includes a monitoring module electrically connected to the resistive component, wherein the monitoring module determines a type for the display device based on a resistance of the resistive component and a control module that selectively adjusts a given operating parameter of the display device in accordance with the type of display device.

Abstract: Se describe una tira sensor de prueba de analito que tiene información codificada en la misma así como un método para formarla y conducir una prueba de analito utilizando la tira sensor de prueba. La información relacionada con un atributo de la tira o grupo/lote de tiras puede codificarse con base en los valores de resistencia pertenecientes a los aspectos eléctricos de la tira, tal como un elemento resistivo primario y un elemento resistivo secundario, el elemento resistivo secundario tiene uno de una pluralidad de estados definidos por un lugar de un conector cerrado para formar una trayectoria resistiva única para el elemento resistivo secundario que incluye una porción del elemento resistivo primario dependiendo de la ubicación del conector cerrado. Los estados pueden formarse en la tira por medio de un paso de procesamiento secundario en la fabricación de la tira en donde una pluralidad de conectores se separa dejando solamente un conector en estado cerrado.
