Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a solid standard test piece with a high accuracy and stable for a long time for analysis of sulfur and chlorine with fluorescent X-ray by solidifying paraffin solid at the normal temperature and the standard substance of sulfur and/or chlorine after mixed and agitated in the liquid state. CONSTITUTION:Paraffin solid at the normal temperature and the standard substance of sulfur and/or chlorine liquid at the normal temperature or fused by heat in the solid state at the normal temperature are mixed together and agitated in the liquid state and the liquid mixture flows into a test piece cell. The cell is immersed in a cool water and solidified by quick coolig to produce a solid standard test piece. This allows even dispersion of the components quickly in the state of particle during their mixing and agitation as they are both in the state of liquid. At the same time, solidification by cooling eliminates the possibility of separation depending on the difference of specific gravity even when the standard test piece of high concentration is prepared. Thus, it is possible to obtain a solid standard test piece for fluorescent X-ray analysis stable for a long time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lock automatically the phase of two rectangular wave signals having different phase to each other, by integrating and averaging the phase difference and locking the phase at this value. CONSTITUTION:Two repetitive rectangular wave signals (a) and (b) with equal frequency and duty are inputted to a phase difference detection circuit 1. The phase difference detected at this detection circuit 1 integrates the signals (a) and (b) during a prescribed cycle and the average value per unit cycle is calculated from the integration value and applied to a phase-lock circuit 3, where the phase of the signal (a) or (b) is shifted by the phase difference corresponding to the average value obtained at the circuit 2 to lock the phase to the phase of other signal (b) or (a).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove indication drifts in principle due to contamination of cell window and deterioration of luminous source by causing the known reference sample and a sample to be measured to alternately flow to a measuring cell thereby to process the output obtained. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a luminous source 1 passes through the sample within a cell 2 to cause photo absorption, and a measuring wavelength is selected by an interference filter 8 and the light is received by a detector 9. Since the reference sample Z and the sample to be measured S alternately flow, variation of photo absorption due to both samples occurs in a predetermined period. The detector 9 detects an AC waveform close to a sin wave. The output of the detector 9 is added to a meter 14 by way of a preamplifier 11 and further an AC amplifier 12 and a rectifier 13.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To execute a measurement of a low concentration even under a strong noise by a simple constitution by using a signal tone detecting microphone of a narrow band, which has a resonator having a resonance frequency band containing an optical chopping frequency.
CONSTITUTION: A measuring opto-acoustic cell 1 and a comparing opto-acoustic cell 2, which a discharge gas to be measured and a discharge gas containing particulate are led in, respectively are irradiated by laser light passing through optical choppers 15, 16, and an acoustic signal of a chopping frequency is generated by an intensity corresponding to a gas concentration in the cell. This signal is detected by microphones 17, 18 of a narrow band, which are provided on the cells 1, 2 and have a resonator having a resonance frequency band containing an optical chopping frequency, and a concentration of a particulate, etc. in the discharge gas is measured by a division processing. A measurement of a low concentration can be executed exactly under a strong noise by a simple constitution which uses this narrow band microphone of a prescribed resonance band.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To automatize the protection of a detector and to prolong its life, by providing a voltage restriction device on the output side of an operational amplifier and restricting the output voltage and also, carrying out feedback of restricted output voltage. CONSTITUTION:In case of measuring the concentration of oxygen, an output of an operational amplifier 11 is supplied to a voltage limiting device 12 as it is when the concentration is in a range of normal measurement. The output voltage of the amplifier 11 is proportional to the output electric current and current-voltage conversion having a good linearity is carried out. Next, when the concentration is increased abnormally, an output current of an electrode 10 is increased in porportion to its concentration and the output voltage of the amplifier 11 is increased. And, the output voltage of the device 12 is restrained in some fixed value and also, feedback quantity to the amplifier 11 is restricted. Accordingly, input impedance of the circuit observed from the electrode 10 is increased and the output current of the electrode 10 is restricted and then, the electrode is protected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible stable measurement for a long time by logarithmically amplifying the alternate measuring signal extracted as the absorption spectrum and the alternate measuring signal not containing this component prior to AC subtraction. CONSTITUTION:The reference sample Z and the measuring sample S alternately flows to the cell 1 to generate changes in the photoabsorption at one cycle due to both the samples Z and S, and the AC waveform close to the sinewave is detected with detectors 9 and 9'. The alternately measuring signals outputted from the detectors 9 and 9' are respectively processed with the preamplifiers 10 and 10', the logarithmic amplifiers 11 and 11', the AC amplifiers 12 and 12' and the rectifiers 13 and 13' and then with the subtractor 14. The output from the subtractor 14 is given as the function of only the concentration of the sample to be measured. Thus, any variation of the concentration is indicated as changes in the output.
